Sutton Spencer's ideas for her life were fairly simple: finish graduate school and fall in love. It would be a lot simpler if she could pinpoint exactly what she should do when she graduates in less than a year. Oh, and if she could figure out how to talk to a woman without feeling like a total mess, that would be great too. Charlotte Thompson is very much the opposite. She's always had clear steps outlining her path to success with no time or inclination for romance. Her burgeoning career in politics means everything to her and she's not willing to compromise it for something as insignificant as love. Fleeting, casual, and discreet worked perfectly fine. When they meet through a dating app, it's immediately clear that they aren't suited for anything more than friendship. Right?

so ayon, last day na ng midterms szn and i just finished this book along with it lol. -0.5 coz i think medj rushed ko binasa coz of the midterms air nga pero it's sooo worth it gais like, literal. this was my break time from reviewing and i didn’t feel lost and uninterested kahit na tmi (fck anaphy). i keep thinking of april kepner as sutton bcs omg it just makes sense. thennn speaking from experience, i love how 'seen' i felt when sutton made it clear that she can't be friends with someone she's in love with even if that meant losing what they built ot had right from the start. and also, the "you can't or you won't" part made it very clear to me na i did the right thing to do a few months ago :).  (will edit this if i can? juse wanna reread this muna to see if it has the same effect after midterms lmaoo.)

Huh. I didn't notice how long this book was when I started reading it. Since I read ebooks I never pay attention to the number of pages (practically meaningless) or the number of words. To tell you the truth I didn't even notice as I was reading it that it is long book. Because it is that good. 5 Stars!

Sutton Spencer (25, Literature grad student) recently discovered that she is attracted to women but has not acted on it out of fear. Her friend Regan puts Sutton's profile on a SapphicSpark dating site. Regan notices that Sutton seemed interested in a profile for a very attractive Charlotte, (28). Sutton won't message her, so Regan does it for her. Afterall what are good friends for? She gets a response back from Charlotte and they begin messaging each other. In truth, Charlotte was in the app to delete it when she saw Sutton's message. Charlotte, currently a NYC Deputy Mayor, was about to announce that she was running for the House of Representatives and was very much in the closet so she was going to delete her profile when she saw Sutton's (or rather Regan's) message that she couldn't resist answering back. And so begins a friendship that becomes friends with benefits to something more. It turns out they have quite a lot in common. Both come from wealthy and political families. One thing I was wondering about, is why it took so long for Charlotte to remove her profile from the dating site since she had her political trajectory planned for a long time. I guess because it was an anonymous site and safter than usual hookups and being seen in lesbian bars/community?

Politics is low on my reading list. But with all the positive and 5 star ratings, I could not, not read it. I'm so glad I did. I enjoyed the slow burn but hot romance, loved both the characters and their friends and families. And yes, I even enjoyed reading about the political campaign and strategies. And that is saying A LOT. I'm looking forward to reading more by Haley Cass.

This was a very good sapphic read!! sutton and charlotte had so much chemistry before and after they were friends with benefits. 

Unfortunately, because of finals, I can't really focus on anything so I was in a reading slump and kept on reading it anyway (...sorry). But I'll reread this book someday and my opinion will change.

It starts off with Sutton who just realized she likes women and tells Regan, who sets up a dating app for her and messages Charlotte, who ended up becoming her advisor. I loved reading their interactions, Sutton (an English-lit student) was super funny and awkward, and I relate to her from the first page. Meanwhile, Charlotte, a politician, was v charming and I would fall to my knees if she talked to me like that tbh. They had so much sexual tension ever since they first met since Sutton's father knows Charlotte Thompson. I was screaming internally during their first encounter in real life, and they didn't talk since that but they attended a party. The ballroom scene >>> (and the amount of times she calls Sutton "darling" even when they weren't dating)

Really enjoyed this story,but I am such a sucker for the format of these type of books,especially the hea. Was a little taken aback but the change of history to fit the characters but it didn't bother me too much

It was a great experience, my only reason not to rate it 5/5 is because the last chapters felt rushed and I didn't get to enjoy what was happening... The book was nice, regardless.
