Amidst shouts for revolution, an unassuming worker accompanies his wife who is in need of emergency surgery to the hospital. He is told that his wife's surgery must be postponed for one week because the country is in a state of mourning over the death of a relative of "the leader." The man vehemently refuses to accept this explanation and is made an example of by being thrown in jail on charges of inciting the people to revolution. A member of the country's legislative assembly who then takes credit for the imprisonment is declared a hero responsible for extricating the country from crisis.
