Very cutesy as an inbetween read! I liked the fact that it wasn’t very stereotypical! No childhood bestfriends that have to end up together, a plus size fmc, 2 mothers instead of the “normal” family situation!

Es un libro super chulo. Al igual que los otros libros de esta trilogía, toca temas sobre la salud mental en los que siento que mucha gente puede sentirse identificada. Me encantó la dinamica de los personajes principales y me identifiqué mucho con ambos en varios aspectos. Me encantó que ellos siempre estuvieran en su mismo mundo y literalmente eran el uno para el otro, siento que nadie los entendía mejor que ellos mismos. Siempre lo he dicho y algo que me gusta de esta trilogía es el ¨found family trope¨ que tiene cada uno de los libros. Necesito un grupito de amigos así bien chévere. Por cierto, ODIO A WILL. Aquí amamos a Henry y a Halle.

Ame este libro, literalmente me pasé todo los capítulos giggling. Me identifiqué tanto con Halle y con su relación con su familia. Por otro lado, amo que la autora trate tantos problemas psicológicos con los personajes especialmente con Henry. Ame el grupito de amigas de Halle, Aurora, Emilia, Cami y Poppy, pero siento que Anastasia debió participar en una de las salidas de chicas luego de que conoció a Halle. Para terminar no se por qué me dio tanta nostalgia que se hayan graduado algunos personajes al final juro que lloré horrible ;(

i absolutely loved this book—it truly delivered on every level for me. it’s an incredibly beautiful story, full of sweetness, fun, and just the right amount of emotion. i found myself deeply connected to the characters, especially henry and halle, who have such a tender and heartwarming relationship. their journey was everything i had hoped for, and it’s easily my favorite book of the series.

› the characters: henry is an absolute sweetheart; i adored him from start to finish. halle is also fantastic—relatable, strong, and endearing. i loved seeing her growth throughout the story, especially how she learned to prioritize herself and her happiness. their dynamic as a couple was delightful, and i couldn’t get enough of their interactions.

› the story’s tone: the book strikes a perfect balance between sweet, funny, and emotional. while it doesn’t delve too deeply into sadness or tension, it still manages to evoke heartfelt emotions in all the right places.

› personal connection: i marked so many quotes and moments in this book, which is rare for me. It really resonated with me on an emotional level, especially through the characters’ personal journeys and emotions.

› quick friendship development: at the beginning, the friendship between henry and halle felt a little rushed. it went from “we don’t know each other” to “we’re best friends” very quickly, which could have been developed more gradually.

› unresolved subplots: will (halle’s ex) was introduced as a significant character but didn’t have a proper resolution, which left his arc feeling incomplete. similarly, i would have liked to see more interaction between halle and henry’s mothers, as they seemed like such intriguing characters.

IN SUMMARY ━ if im being objective, it’s closer to 3 stars. however, the beautiful connection between henry and halle and their heartfelt, sweet relationship truly won me over. i couldn’t help but love the way their bond developed, making the story deeply enjoyable for me. it took me a solid week to finish it because i was afraid it might lead to an unhappy ending, but thankfully it delivered the happy ending i was rooting for.

Henry and Halle’s story was very sweet, and definitely infused with that Hannah Grace magic that keeps me reading all night long, but there were parts of this one I didn’t love. I felt some of the internal struggle that both Halle and Henry experienced was repetitive and lacked the subtlety that the other Maple Hills books had. I felt that the author didn’t really trust the reader to understand the characters without explicitly spelling it out on the page. On the other hand though, I appreciate the effort to write real neurodiverse characters without infantilizing them. Either way, I enjoyed reading the story and I had many laugh out loud moments.

I am SO disappointed, this was just... not what I was hoping. I could see glimmers of an amazing book but I just don't think this was executed well, and I am sad because I could see how it could've easily been better. I liked 

 slightly more, especially because it seemed that Hannah Grace had taken on feedback from her first novel and really improved in her second, but this book was like she threw all of that out the window. My issue with both 

 is that they don't seem to have any structure to the story, sometimes I think the "no plot, just vibes" storyline can work but for this book it just didn't for me, instead I felt like this book was too long, too meandering and felt more tell than show. I related to the characters so much but I just couldn't fully connect to their story, and I am so sad about that. Henry was one of my favourite side characters and I think this was a let down from the build up created in the previous books.

Firstly, I felt like a lot of the really impactful, fun scenes happened off page, we were told about them retrospectively and this made the flow of the story really disjointed for me. We spend a LOT of time with both Halle and Henry in their internal monologues and I think that overwhelmed the story. There's a scene where Cami and Halle are chatting about what to get Halle's mother for her birthday, they're both just sitting at a table at work and they mention having been to a salon together - I think if the salon scene had been shown on page instead of at work along with this conversation it would've been more interesting. It happens again when they're at a party about to play beer pong, and again when Halle and Henry are going to bake together - we are shown the lead up to these scenes happening but the actual fun activity isn't shown on page. I feel like it made everything a bit boring because we are just seeing the mundane parts of their life instead of the highlights. I also don't think the plotline, minimal as it was, was made as important in the storyline as it should've been, I kept forgetting that they were technically "fake dating" so that he could show her experiences and so that she could help him with his studying and essays. I feel like this got too lost in amongst the wordiness of everything else happening around them.

Aside from that, the character development was interesting, I loved the neurodivergent representation and think this book handled those subjects very well, the gentle friendships they all had with each other where they respect each others space and understand how different people handle things was beautiful to read about. I thought this book felt quite cosy, it felt like sitting around with my own friends just hanging out, and I do love just hanging out, but I don't think it quite hooked me as a story structure, we needed a bit more excitement and tension like we had in the previous two books. The storyline with Will was interesting too, it added a good dash of pressure to the story but it didn't really pop off until around the 60% mark and it took too long to get to that moment, I wish Will had been more of a present threat to their relationship instead of just a background annoyance. In the end, I think this book was just too long and drawn out, if it had been 300ish pages long and a bit more refined I think I would've enjoyed it more.

I'm not sure if I'll continue reading Grace's books, I'll see how I feel when/if she releases a fourth in this series or a new series altogether but I'm just not sure her writing is for me anymore. This may be a me problem because a few of my friends absolutely loved this book, maybe I have just outgrown this style of romance and need to focus on others instead. I would recommend this book if you enjoy Marianna Zapata's super slow burn style and a more casual, relaxed, vibes only style book.

I must admit this book is a bit of a predicament for me.

On the one hand I love the characters and the emotion of it all.

On the other hand all the Maple Hills books were lacking in plot but this one felt much more severe.

And it was just missing some spark. I still adored it though.

I had high expectations for this book since I greatly enjoyed the previous two. Overall, I did enjoy Henry and Halle's story, but there were some things I didn't like either. I loved seeing Halle grow so much throughout the book and how much their feelings for each other grew. I liked that this was a more friends-to-lovers book instead of them having an instant-love thing. What I didn't enjoy was after realizing they had feelings for each other it took them so long to be a couple. I loved how patient they were with each other, like Halle gaining confidence and Henry going through rough patches. But what I didn't love was how much Will was included in this book, I get that he would be brought up since he was her only ex, but I felt like it was overdone a little. Also, when Henry had to take a bit of time at the end, I can't believe it was over a month and everyone was just kind of okay with it, I thought maybe two weeks at the most, but A MONTH. I loved how caring Henry was and how Halle finally has her own inner circle. Also, I want more Joy content.

i think this is hannah grace’s best book yet. it took me awhile to finish just bc of life lol, but i really enjoyed how she wrote halle and henry. automatically had butterflies throughout the whole book, i loved the pace of their relationship and they were pretty honest and communicative with each other. it was refreshing to not have a miscommunication trope happen here lol. i look forward to more of hannah’s books!

Ever since Henry’s character was introduced in the series, I knew I needed his story, so expectations were high. Hannah Grace mostly didn’t disappoint! This book was really cute. Henry and Halle feel like they were made for each other and I don’t think I have read a book with a healthier relationship than the one Henry and Halle have. I loved the slow-burn friends to lovers storyline. However the only downside I have to it was that I wish there was a bit more romance, personally I didn’t really feel the romance and wished she went deeper with the romance side of things. Don’t get me wrong there were definitely some romantic parts to this book but i wish there were more. Halle is the eldest daughter in this book and she holds the burden of helping everyone and as someone who has a sister who is the eldest daughter, this book made me really think about her. One bit in particular really resonated with me, it was Halle’s mother’s birthday and her siblings all turned to her to sort out the perfect gift. When I read that bit i realised that’s exactly what I do. Halle’s character really just made me appreciate my sister even more than I already do and that I should check in with her more.

I loved Wildfire and Icebreacker but this wasnt it. Halles schedule and the constant reminder of her being the responsible sister STRESSED ME TF OUT. Not only because I could relate to it but also because it messed with the building of the relationsship in my opinion. Wanted to love this more but I couldnt :(
