Hannah Morrissey is a master of dark, atmospheric, bone-chilling crime novels. And this is dark-it includes child abuse and other weird and dark elements. But the story is full of twists and turns and I ended up feeling for its very flawed, messed-up characters. This sophomore novel is much better than her first.p, in my opinion.
