Souls Trilogy ~ book 2

So I think I like this one a little bit more than the first one for one reason and one reason only. The FMC. I really liked Juniper’s character more than Rae from book 1. Everything else from the book was pretty much the same. It was the same situation from book 1 just following these two characters instead. I feel like Leon and Zane were both pretty similar in how they were portrayed. But Rae and Juniper were the ones that were different and I like Juniper just a little bit more than Rae. I’ll be intrigued with book 3 but have the same expectations as these because I think it’s again the same plot just different characters.

this book is fucking everything. i lovelovelovelove it. literally one of my favorite books now. the characters : hot, sassy, hot, extremely sweet and i wanna marry half the book by now. the amount of darkness is perfect and the SYPR MF INTERESTIGG plot mixed with smut? yes please i want more.

The perfect sequel to Her Soul to Take. You get to read the story from a seperate couples pov and learn more about the characters, deepen the plot, and experience more spice. Definitely makes me love the series all the more.

What should I say, I loved this even more than the first. Unfortunately real life happened or I would have read this in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down.

I loved to see the story from another (or rather from two other) perspective(s) which closed some gaps for me and added the depth I missed reading 

. It was supernaturally and fun, dark and violent, kinky, reflective - safe to say, Juni and Zane might be my new favorite sickos and exactly what I was craving right now. I didn’t get emotionally invested as much as I usually need to, to give a book 5 stars, but knowing that’s probably due to my massive 

 hangover than the book, it deserves the rating anyway. There are so many beautiful quotes and thoughts that I related to a lot and that would have made me feel something if I’ve read it at a different time.

Finale notes: I‘m sad the book ended and part three of the trilogy is nowhere in sight  ☹️

Anyway this was still really good, great smut, great characters and also a really good plot and a cool atmosphere and “world” I guess. And I am really excited for the third one to come out.

But there truly was nothing I didn't like about this book. I might even have a new favourite pair of sickos, Zane and Juni really did it for me.

I actually wasn’t planning on reading this second book in the series because I loved Leon and Raelynn so much and I wasn’t that interested in Juniper or Zane from what we learned in that first book, but I’m so glad I did!  I actually ended up loving Zane and his and Juniper’s relationship more than Leon and Raelynn’s. I will say this book did feel a bit rushed and I think is a bit shorter than the first one which I think is a disservice to the ark of this story but I definitely enjoyed reading this book!

I started reading this in November and full on got distracted and stopped reading at 28%. My BFF started reading it and wanted to talk about it.. so I picked it back up and DEVOURED IT.

The smut in this book is frequent and kinky. I loved it. The relationship dynamic between the two MC's was mature, open, and understanding of eachother's nature. I love how obsessed he is with her, he is straight whipped. Juniper is a goddamn badass. She's so strong and so firey, I loved reading what she was going to say next. Good second addition to this series.

wow. I don’t have enough words for this masterpiece. truly this book was an experience. I loved how it entertained with what was happening in the first book so seamlessly. I loved seeing Rae & Leon fall in love from a distance. 

Zane loved what he did & didn’t find anything wrong with it in any sense. until one came along & piqued his interest, Little Wolf. he watched from a distance for years until finally he found his time, but she wanted it just as much. Too most demons, her revenge may have been too much, but Zane wasn’t about to walk away from what he felt he most wanted & wasn’t even sure why that was, but he dove headfirst. Revenge is sweetest with a demon at your side. 

I loved how Zane was so in tune with her anxieties & helping her work through them. He was there with her every step of the way as Juniper is trying to cope with her bad memories & work through how she wants to enact her revenge & Zane is there to help her in whatever she needs & however he can. 

They were sweet & also toxic. they knew what they needed most from each other & took it. He wanted a challenge, she wanted just MORE. & they got it in spades together.

How the hell am I supposed to explain how good you are at writing??? Like, I'm not the writer, I can't even begin to put into words how much I love this freaking book.

Let's lay out why this book is incredible:

1. Writing Style 
- Exceptional flow
- Narrative voices vary enough to make it believable that the reader is reading the accounts of two separate characters
- Fabulous use of adjectives and descriptive phrases to provide imagery for the reader

2. Plot and Plot Execution
- Plot is complex, layered, and interesting enough to keep the reader engaged
- Plot lines are well thought out and not rushed
- Pacing matches what a book of this length and story should have
- Plot execution is flawless, little to no filler passages or unnecessary chapters, no rushed endings

3. Characters
- Zane and Juniper are dynamic characters with complex backgrounds and are superbly matched
- The chemistry between the characters is immaculate
- Phenomenal character arcs and details enhance the story
- Narrative style furthers readers' understanding of the characters
- Juniper and Zane are not stereotypical by any means

4. Smut and Spice
- Fantastic spice that pushes the plot forward instead of detracting from the story
- Extremely well-written
- FINALLY A BOOK WHERE THEY'RE BOTH SWITCHES!!!!!!!!!
- Amazing use of kinks
- Intersection of violence, emotions, sex, and love is very well executed

5. Setting
- The imagery provided by the great writing provides an incredible view into the setting of the story

I absolutely LOVED the first book in this series but this one was just a bit of a letdown for me. My favorite thing about the first book was the atmosphere the author created. I didn't feel that at all while reading this one. By the end I was just skimming because it felt like the story had just gone on too long and I was ready to see how we were going to wrap this all up. The epilogue also wasn't my favorite. However, I still had a good time for the most part. Harley Laroux can write and I'll continue to read what they put out in the future.

What a surprise that I of course fell in love with another story by Harley LaRoux. This woman knows how to write in a way that grabs your attention from beginning to end.


Her Soul for Revenge is Juniper and Zane’s story and good lord what a steamy and captivating story it is. Their story is almost following the same timeline as the first book but not in a repetitive way at all. From this timeline, we meet Juniper who is on a path of revenge for what has happened to her in the past. Enter, Zane who makes a deal with her to help her seek that revenge. 

Juniper is one badass heroine that I love. She takes no crap from anyone and holds her own no matter what. Zane is sexy, filthy-mouthed, but deep down a softie whim I love so much. This book was packed with plenty of smutty, sexy scenes, but also a lot of action. I loved every bit of it and can’t wait for the next book!!!
