This first book was such a fun and easy read. I found myself actually excited to pick it up and escape reality for a little bit each night. 

I fully understand the hype, and can’t wait to read the rest of this series.⚡📚

reading this as an adult somehow didn’t feel very different from when I was 10 and picked it up at the school library. it made me long for a time when my biggest concern regarding this book was whether snape would occur in one of my nightmares rather than the transphobia promoted by its author.

I was first introduced to the word of Harry Potter when I was very young; I would often read the book series 10 times over. Being so young, I never fully understood what an amazing book this one is as I favoured the Chamber of Secrets and Goblet of Fire. Albeit controversial, Rowling is undoubtedly brilliant regarding world-building; there are still so many details and secrets I notice hidden within Hogwarts during each revisit. The magic created was not lost on me the older I've gotten; I find it even more magical and brilliant now than when I did all those years ago. There isn't much else to say, as people have been saying the same things for years.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is my ultimate comfort read; I adored every second. It's one of those books I'll revisit for many years and my go-to book for getting out of a reading slump.

I have lost count of how many times I've read the first four Potter books (I've read all of them several times but the first four has something special.) This time was sparked by watching Fantastic Beasts at the cinema and wanting to read something that in no way could end up being research for my Master's Thesis.
