I was really excited to get into this book based on how the first one ended. I though the storyline was good and I loved how much Addie grew throughout the book. It was amazing to see how much stronger she was and how confident she got and how much her relationship with her mom grew. This book just didn't have me as hooked as the first one, after Zade saved Addie it kind of fell off for me. I also wish we would have found out what happened to Sibby at the end of the book, but I think she got her happily ever after.

this was your typical kidnapped-woman-gets-saved-by-tall-scary-boyfriend story. the plot was meh. but the parts where adeline was trapped in that house and all of that shit was happening to her was horrifying. i still don't like zade but at least he was respectful of addie's space for a while after she was rescued. 

the writing was pretty decent, not special but made this easier to read than a lot of dark romances, that's for sure. i get why this series was popular.

Beaucoup trop de trauma porn et de torture explicite dans la première moitié du roman, bien plus que dans le premier tome. J’ai fini par sauter des passages parce que c’était trop pour moi. La deuxième partie m’a parue longue et j’ai même cherché des avis pour voir si ça valait la peine de continuer. Pas mal d'autres lecteurs ont ressenti la même chose et ont abandonné. J’ai quand même lu le dernier chapitre et l’épilogue, mais là encore je me suis surtout sentie mal face à la toxicité de la relation entre Zade et Adeline. Dans le tome 1, l’enquête parallèle, l’écriture et certaines scènes de smut rattrapaient un peu le reste, mais là...

 and it just made my heart and soul physically HURT! it destroyed me! i enjoyed this book more than the first! once you get past the first part and when Z really kicks it into gear to get his girl, it made me love him so so much! and seeing Addie overcome the nightmare she went through and become stronger and powerful from it was super satisfying. i loved getting to know each of the characters more in this book and i fucking LOVED Sibyl!!! this whole story was a wild fucking ride to say the least and it’s one that will haunt me for a long time!!

Any of Addie's chapters before 22 were a hard read, and I ended up only reading Zade's chapters up until that point. I feel like most of what Addie went through could've been implied & off-page. Other than all of that, I loved this book and I'm so sad it's over :(

Zade & Adeline = combustion in the darkest ways. I did not like the actual trauma in this book though. I struggled through all that to the redemption section. I understand why it was added, just not my cup of tea.

I will admit, this one was definitely harder to read and I skimmed over some of the graphic scenes. And the smut between Zade and Adeline did not feel as, enjoyable for me this time. The ending did feel kind of rushed but I still did enjoy myself. 
Definitely heed the trigger warnings for this one because DAMN. 
Zade is still a smash in this one, and I will gladly kill Adeline's father for him.

I took a good amount of time to decide what I wanted to say about this book. However, I don’t know if any of the feelings that I have about part two are valid, considering that I am not a survivor of sexual assault. This is not a book I would recommend for somebody with this being their first dark romance.

So much better than haunting Adeline! Could actually read it without getting bored!
