Euro centric and modernist!

I wished there were other women from other geographies... There was one Chinese scientist but she has had her major breakthrough in the United States...
The stories there I daresay are still relatable even today how women are still denied research positions, funds (despite the diaspora of program and funds dedicated to women only)... The bottom line is that centuries later we are still witnessing the same discrimination again in subtle ways...

Funny how even then, sometime around the 1800's there was a feeling of double standards that women were confronted with! 

However, I would like to dwell on the positive experience of reading this book too : no matter how divergent the fields of research of these women they had more in common : perseverance, tenacity and courage!

We have yet a long way to go to achieve the non-judgmental safe spaces for humans no matter what their sex is...
