LMAOOO Lord Taran is shaping up to be one of the best parts of this story

"I will go on ahead. Naturally,  everyone is expecting you to appear at some point, and so a number of the queen's soldiers are lying in wait for you at various places around the castle grounds. I will get them out of the way, at least. Then you can sweep in and terrify us all with your sewing kit, my lord."

I glared at him, and he raised his eyebrows innocently. "No? Broom collection, perhaps?"

I let out a trembling breath. “And what sort of queen would that make me?"

I would sleep here if the librarians would allow it, but while most of them have received me with kindness and welcome, the head librarian is a tyrannical sort, and seems already to disapprove of me and my many requests, even seeing fit to lecture me for leaving the special collections room in disarray, so I doubt such a request would be well received. One would think books existed simply to be looked at and occasionally dusted, the way that man carries on. And if the filing system differs from Cambridge's, is it my fault if this occasionally leads me to misplace things?

Lovely wrap to Emily & Wendell’s story. Some of my favorite world building I’ve ever read, the story felt easy to slip into like an old dream but with twists and quips that kept me on my toes.

I heard that this series really fell off after the first book but I’m here to tell you if you’ve heard that don’t listen! I love how each story built upon the last and this was a great way to end it. I do wis we would have gotten a little bit more of a glimpse into Wendell and Emily’s life together at the end, but this was another fun tale filled with faerie folklore.

I liked that the structure of the book did not go the obvious way. But there still remains the issue of climactic moments appearing underwhelming. Still an easy listen.

I've said it twice and so I'll say it again, I love LOVE the way the Fae is potrayed in this series. None of it follows strict rules and no two of the Folk are the same. Lord Taran, in particular, is a good example of this and GOD was that man hilarious. I would love,love ,LOVE a book on his & Callums story.  I love that the side characters are so important to the narrative and actively help push Emily to where she needs to go. The author doesnt let us believe in blind love and makes sure to show us reminders that Wendell is still a Fae. The theme of patterns is also so interesting and I loved seeing the callbacks & connections to the current events! Even reading the footnotes is worth it, this world is just so intricate. I'm not surprised by the ending at all, just like how the Ice King was trapped & Wendell was spared, there had to be a loophole right? His stepmother dying in that place just didnt seem right.  These are characters that are their own people outside of the romance and it's written so well. I love Emily , I love Wendell and I love them together and apart.  Another excellent book, I really need to get my own physical copy of this trilogy. 

i told myself i am going to stop blaming me whenever a book doesn’t hold my attention and this one did not hold my attention— or well…it did but then it lost it toward the end and that alone took me over two weeks to finish. i just think this one was longer than it had any real right to be which makes me so sad cause i LOVED the first two but idk…maybe it was my mood/depression but i don’t think it was. i just think the book fell off a bit.

I found the first two installments of this series endearing, though not totally attuned to my taste. This book is the payoff. I thoroughly enjoyed this book; the atmospheric descriptions of creepy fae and a protagonist apart from the mindless adherence to recurring story themes, though still having an understanding of the world that requires the stories to live on. Very well done.

An adorable but satisfying conclusion to the series.

Emily and Wendell are in full on love this time around and Wendell is a man who uses Acts of Service as a love language.  He takes on all those little jobs and tasks that just make Emily's life easier. Would it have been even better with a bit more adventure? Yes. But it was well paced and the romance pace was in keeping with the story.

The portal system, collecting all the legends & stories was a great way to weave in some suspense and tie all of their adventures together.  There are some old friends popping up here and there and the humour is gentle, not over the top and raucous. 

My favourite line is when Wendell just states "Mine". (swooooon)
