This is the second book of this series I read and it was, once again, a compulsive reading...

The action of The Cursed takes place in Key West, where the protagonist, Hannah O'Brien, runs a small B&B and gives guided tours of the city's most famous haunted places. And it's precisely after one of those tours, when a couple is trying to relax by the pool that a ghost appears. A ghost so spooky it even seems real...

The next morning, after having lost all her guests due to last night's scare, Hannah decides to try to find the ghost. But she ends up finding a body in the alley next to the B&B. Apparently it wasn't a haunting that scared her guests, but a wounded man looking for help...

But he wasn't just any man... He was an FBI agent, infiltrated in the smuggling ring known as Los Lobos, and that is why Agent Dallas Samson is also helping the local law enforcement with the investigation.

And when Hannah, who can see and communicate with ghosts, receives the visit of the dead agent, she reaches out to her cousin Kelsey O'Brien who can also communicate with ghosts and is an agent of the Krewe of Hunters, a special FBI unit responsible for the investigation of paranormal phenomenon. And is with the help of the house ghosts, as well as with the help of the ghosts of the victims of the Los Lobos, that the investigation starts to finally get somewhere...

In the beginning it seems like a coincidence that the agent has been murdered next to Hannah's house, but when it becomes obvious that the leader of the Los Lobos is interested in her house, Dallas takes the job of keeping her safe very seriously. But what can the Los Lobos want from Hannah's house?

Once again I found the story believable, despite its paranormal touch, but, to me, its strong point is the descriptions of Key West, who are gorgeous and really make you want to visit. I also liked the romance, because I don't think it's strange for two people with the same uncommon power to get close rapidly while going through a dangerous situation, and that's exactly what happens to Dallas and Hannah. The identity of the leader of the Los Lobos wasn't a total surprise, but I wasn't able to discover who it was much sooner than it was revealed...
