We our briefly introduced to out character Toni, who at a young age seems to have a strange gift. Some sort of precognition that was happening. It was all very vague.
With the here and now, Toni works as a tour guide of sorts and has weaved a fantastic tail surrounding an old castle, only to find out the story she has been making up indeed has truly happened. Having found this out from the castle's owner, Bruce.
We do learn that there have been strange disappearances of women that all seem to turn up dead in the same forest area, close to Bruce's home.
There are interludes where we get a look at the history-turned-story to find out what happened to the Laird's wife.
Toni has discovered a long hidden body, and has possibly even seen a ghost who led her to said body. Toni also seems to once again be accessing her precognition gifts, having been in the mind of the most recent missing girl.
There was a pretty nice twist at the end. This made for an interesting read but I wish there had been more to the original mystery.
