A Breath-Taking New Novel in the Tattooist of Auschwitz Story

Three Sisters

The breath-taking new novel from the author of The Tattooist of Auschwitz and Cilka's Journey, based on a powerful true story of hope and survival. 'I want you to make a promise to me that you will always take care of your sisters. That you will always be there for one another. That you will not allow anyone to take you away from each other, ever. Do you understand?' When they are little girls, Cibi, Magda and Livia make a promise to their father - that they will stay together, no matter what. Years later, at just 15, Livia is ordered to Auschwitz by the Nazis. Cibi, only 19 herself, remembers their promise and follows Livia, determined to protect her sister, or die with her. Together, they fight to survive through unimaginable cruelty and hardship. Magda, only 17, stays with her mother and grandfather, hiding out in a neighbour's attic or in the forest when the Nazi militia come to round up friends, neighbours and family. She escapes for a time, but eventually she too is captured and transported to the death camp. In Auschwitz-Birkenau the three sisters are reunited and, remembering their father, they make a new promise, this time to each other: That they will survive. From Heather Morris, author of The Tattooist of Auschwitz and Cilka's Journey, which have sold eight million copies worldwide, comes an astonishing new story that will break your heart, but leave you amazed and uplifted by the courage and fierce love of three sisters, whose promise to each other kept them alive in a place without hope.

Another powerful tale of strength and survival during the Holocaust...this book tells the story of the three Meller sisters: Cibi, Magda and Livi. Their story is amazing and this book will be heartbreaking and endearing all at once. A must read....

From Heather Morris, the New York Times bestselling author of the multi-million copy bestseller The Tattooist of Auschwitz and Cilka's Journey: a story of family, courage, and resilience, inspired by a true story. Against all odds, three Slovakian sisters have survived years of imprisonment in the most notorious death camp in Nazi Germany: Auschwitz. Livia, Magda, and Cibi have clung together, nearly died from starvation and overwork, and the brutal whims of the guards in this place of horror. But now, the allies are closing in and the sisters have one last hurdle to face: the death march from Auschwitz, as the Nazis try to erase any evidence of the prisoners held there. Due to a last minute stroke of luck, the three of them are able to escape formation and hide in the woods for days before being rescued. And this is where the story begins. From there, the three sisters travel to Israel, to their new home, but the battle for freedom takes on new forms. Livia, Magda, and Cibi must face the ghosts of their past--and some secrets that they have kept from each other--to find true peace and happiness. Inspired by a true story, and with events that overlap with those of Lale, Gita, and Cilka, The Three Sisters will hold a place in readers' hearts and minds as they experience what true courage really is.

A Novel

Super raw and heartbreaking. I felt that there were some abrupt transitions, but definitely glad I read it and learned a lot.

This book is about three sisters and their experiences in the Nazi concentration camps and post liberation. It did not disappoint. Heather Morris does it again. I loved this as much as I loved tattooist of auschwitz and Cilka’s Journey.

So much bravery and resilience from these sisters.

If you liked Tattooist of Auschwitz and Cilka’s Journey this is a must read.
