Rip and Pearl are a match you would never have seen coming. The rough, tough, jagged edge operator was part of the team that took down the leaders of the ABT. Pearl is the possible daughter of one of its leaders. But she isn't her father and she knows that what the ABT was doing was wrong. Now she's in danger from someone who wants to use her as leverage. But the Invincibles are on hand and swoop her to safety in the care of Rip. I loved just how gentle he was with her. He didn't tread on her feelings, make her feel less than because of who her father was, and was careful to try and understand her trauma and triggers. Pearl was sweetly naive about the real world but she wasn't completely out of touch. She knows what she wants and she's not ashamed about admitting it. Rip's not sure if what they feel is real or some kind of warped Stockholm/Survivor syndrome but the females in the team soon put Pearl right on how to make her point LOL. So while there are not tons of smexy times in this book the sweet, sweet tension between these two ends in a flurry of passion. Absolute delight!
