Oh, how I have absolutely adored getting to watch these girls grow!
It is no doubt that I have fallen in love with the Concord girls, but getting to see their personalities and passions grow has been a really great experience, from a reader's point of view. 
While I had hopped to see a little less girl vs. girl drama in the later books, Wish You Were Eyre was perfectly rounded out with lessons learned and friendships made and restored. If the point is to teach that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover (book club pun, couldn't help it), then I understand the petty parts and the drama. It is high school after all! I eagerly await the last book in the series to see what becomes of our growing girls.
However, I can't help but feel a little sad. As I've stated before, I feel to be in kindred spirits with these books and wish I could follow them forever. What will become of Emma and Stewart, Jess and Darcy? Will Megan become the amazing designer she's destined to be? Will Cassidy follow her heart to England? And will Becca dive into her passion for architecture and her Mr. Rochester?
I really started to get weepy during the final scene, not only because of the love and happiness throughout it, but because Megan was asking all of the questions I wanted answers to. What does the future have in store? It was a perfect way to round out the book, and if I didn't know there was one more left, I'd have been panic stricken. I don't want these to end! I'd follow these girls into old age if I could (maybe there can be some persuading Heather). There is a lot to say for a book that can real you in so much that you find your own life intertwined with the world within it. When a story is this compelling and beautiful, "Our hearts are knit together in love", and I will absolutely be carrying a bit of Concord around with me everywhere that I go. The final line really puts it all in perspective: "There really is no place like home".
