Helen DeWitt

A modern amorality play about a 17-year-old girl, the wilder shores of connoisseurship, and the power of false friends

The English Understand Wool

This is a delightful James Bond fantasy, except that instead of being about toxic masculinity and violence, the fantasy is about connoisseurship and elegance and I LOVE IT.

Okay these book designs are infantile, and at first I couldn’t believe how snobbish this book was then all of sudden you have an “oh” moment, it picks up, you’re swept away. What a nice little surprise of a book.
