A seriously good crime thriller book, that once again proves that Helen Fields is a top writer in the genre. With a seamlessly-integrated plot, fantastic dialogue, high-stakes and great character relationships, it was a very well crafted book. Perfect Kill covers a number of very serious and quite harrowing topics, including abusive prostitution, rape and trafficking people for organs, and it handles them by and large with great care and emotion. The book feels very real because of it, purely because these kinds of things do actually go on in the world and there are investigations like the one contained in this book that aim to stop them. It was by no means an easy book to read, that is true, and I found myself stepping away to lighter reads from time to time, but that's not to say that it isn't a good book - because it is a fantastic book, but definitely not for the faint hearted!
