Before Thea and Wilder, before Torj and Wren. There was Talemir and Drue!

Drue has lost much in her life - her mother, her brothers, the majority of her nation. She put aside her noblewoman background and is now happy as the Blacksmith's daughter and Ranger. Her tours take her into the path of danger but nothing as dangerous as Tal!

Tal and Wilder have been sent to Navaar after a tip about someone tampering with the smithing of their swords. The very swords that keep the Shadow Wraiths at bay. They soon learn that the tip was malicious, intended to get Drue into trouble and put her "in her place" for rebuffing someone's advances. But before they can depart they get dragged into a mission to save the locals.

Talemir is hiding big secrets! He's no longer just a Warsword and mentor of Wilder. The intense attraction to Drue may be his undoing. He won't pull others into keeping his secret for him, well no more than he needs to. If he can just keep it under control...Ah Tal, we all know that secrets out the bag and it's just a matter of when not if everyone else clues in!

Drue is not pampered princess, she's happy down in the muck with everyone else. Her sense of responsibility is strong and she has justifiable hatred of the wraiths. But she cannot deny that a certain Warsword has her tied in knots, and everyone else around her can see it too.

This is a great story about friendships, responsibility, redemption and learning to think before acting and that biases can be unjustified.

There is plenty of banter, friends and flirty. The action is tightly woven and the chemistry between Tal and Drue is spicy!

This was a fabulous addition to the Azemarr world and I can't wait to read more.
