This book broke me. It made me realize things i had not though about. I read and the best and worst timing for myself personally as a freshman in college attempting a long distance relationship. This hit really close to home 10/10 totally recommend.

En toda mi vida, nunca pero nunca, eso que he tenido momentos bastante bajos, pero nunca me había sentido tan miserable como me sentí luego de terminar Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between. A ver, este libro lo conocí a finales de 2014 cuando Tristar decidió que era buena idea comprar los derechos del libro y generar un poco de bulla. Leímos la sinopsis y entendimos porqué es que estaban interesados. Leí el libro y sé que voy a morir si la película llega hacerse y la hacen bien. Y si lo hacen mal, ellos son los muertos.

Los que hemos leído con anterioridad a Jennifer E. Smith ya sabemos que nos encontraremos: una historia sencilla, personajes normales y mucho, mucho romance. A mí me gusta eso, personajes normales, personajes que sientes podrías encontrarte en la calle o quizá ya conoces. O quizá tú eres el personaje del que está hablando la escritora.

When their eyes meet, he smiles almost without meaning to, which is the kind of smile she loves best: It’s like a sneeze, a reflex, a twitch, helpless and automatic, and it only happens when he looks at her.
No soy cursi por naturaleza, soy romántica a lo Fitzgerald, creo que todo terminará mal y lo espero con ansías. Pero a la vez quiero que alguien me demuestre lo contrario. Y también sé que nadie podrá. Así que leer Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between fue para mí un tremendo huracán emocional, puedes ver como esta pareja se enamoró, es fácil entender porqué la idea de separarse y al ser personajes que tienen personalidades comunes me fue un poco chocante el entender las dos partes del posible rompimiento. 

Si ya de por sí el libro es cruel emocionalmente, el epílogo es simplemente la cosa más dura de leer. Siempre se dice que los sentimientos no puedes sentirlos físicamente, pero hay veces que prueban lo contrario.



Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between te habla sobre la realidad, las cosas que cambian para bien para mal y sobre todo, que cada nueva persona que conocemos, puede ser el prólogo para una gran historia que podría cambiar tu vida.

I really liked this one. Largely because the teens weren't annoying. They were mature and communicated well. The book didn't drag on and the ending was satisfying.

Another Jennifer E. Smith book that, at first sight, I knew I had to read. YA contemporary reads are my most read genre and one I really enjoy. And Jennifer E. Smith is a consistent must-read author for me in this genre. Though I wasn’t wowed by this book, I did find myself really enjoying a majority of it. I did have a few issues with it, but they were minimal and didn’t take much away from the story.

In normal Jennifer E. Smith style, this entire story takes place over a short period of time – the final 12 hours before Clare and Aidan leave and go off to two separate colleges that just happen to be across the country from each other. Clare and Aidan have been together for a long time, yet the fact that their colleges are so far apart from each other, Clare is feeling that a breakup is inevitable. Aidan, on the other hand, is leaning toward attempting a long-distance relationship.
 
Together Clare and Aidan pull and all-nighter, spending this last 12 hours on a bit of a scavenger hunt (though Clare HATES when her friends call it that) attempting to make a decision regarding their relationship status. They encounter all kinds of friends, fun places, and even a few dramatic moments along the way.

As always, I really enjoyed how Smith’s books always take place over a limited period of time. The few complaints I had with this story were all kind of related. First, I felt like I never really got to know the characters. It may have been more because I didn’t really care for Clare and wasn’t able to really relate to her. I did, however, like Aidan and thought he had a good head on his shoulders… but I also felt like I really didn’t get to know him. Also for most of the story I kind of felt like the story didn’t have a reason for being told, if that makes any sense. I found myself constantly thinking, “What am I getting out of this story?” and “Am I really going to remember this story after I’m done with it?” The first question was answered toward the end of the story, when I did find a few valuable lessons for the story. The second question, however, was answered with an immediate NO since I just finished this book a couple of days ago and already I have forgotten a lot about it. I have a feeling this story will NOT stay with me, as other Smith stories have – namely The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight. (SO MUCH LOVE FOR THAT BOOK!!!)

There’s something about Jennifer E. Smith’s books that always draw me in. Maybe it’s the adorableness of each of her covers. Maybe it’s the stories sound so absolutely fantastic that I can’t help but say no. Maybe it’s that all of her stories take place over a very short, limited period of time. I think it’s probably all of the above. Each time I see a new Smith book in the works I get extremely excited. And though these books don’t tend to be five star reads for me, I do tend to enjoy them. They are sweet, fun, quick contemporary reads that are perfect for a lazy Saturday afternoon. If you like that kind of story, you’ll want to give this one a try.

This story follows a couple who has less than 24 hours together before they set off for college. In that matter of time they would have to figure out whether they want to stay together or break up. By doing so, they retrace their steps by going back to places that build up their relationship, hoping to figure out if this is their last goodbye.

Well it's Jennifer e. smith, it's bound to be a cute read! It was only a couple hundred pages long (sadly) but I though it wrapped up perfectly. I love the writing style and how poetic it is, it just makes you want to highlight the whole book. My only negative thought in this book was how annoying the main characters were. I was afraid the book would end up being dramatic and pointless, but i'm glad it was much more than that.

Very easy and light read, a hundred percent adorable and swoon-worthy, definitely recommend this if you're in a reading slump.
