Washington Square

This was my first Henry James story, and I loved the way it was written. It's a character piece, not too plot driven, but that made it pretty refreshing for me personally.

I love Henry James. Most of all I love his writing and the way he delicately weaves a tale. Still, I have to admit that Washington Square feels like sub-standard Henry James. The writing is alright but the characters are just not likeable, which makes the book an enjoyable enough read but not as delightful as other James novels.
