Everyone has secrets. Although, I was a master at concealing mine. But part of hiding was deception, and I'd become a veritable Pinocchio. He was like two different people-Eli and Dr. Paxton. While I knew the latter would turn out to be an incredible teacher, the idea of Eli being more threw me for a loop. I couldn't separate the two, and it seemed vastly inappropriate and strangely alluring. The practical side of me needed to win the war inside my mind. I had to please the teacher, not the man. But once I'd cross that line, there was no turning back.For either of us.

Trigger warning eating disorder In this Book we meet Colbie, the only girl in the Family, the family outcast and she falls in love with her teacher and brothers friend. He is the one she convides in, the one that sees her just the right way. It contains a happy ending, but her family could have been more punished for how they treated Colbie.

** spoiler alert ** I loved this!! Colbie and Eli were amazing. Besides Caden, the rest of her family can go fall off a cliff. The ending was an improvement, but they can’t expect all to be fixed by buying her a piano. This gave me Sweet Dandelion and Loving Mr. Daniels vibes so I was thrilled about that. I didn’t t ugh ink it was too insta lovey, besides the wedding scene towards the beginning. But I felt like it was well paced. Her best friend I didn’t like until the end. I was mad too. I wish we saw her meeting his parents cuz they sounded awesome. Colbie had such great character progression, I was so proud of her. Great book.
