I just finished this book, I cried a lot to word the end, and than I was so happy. But in the end thinking of oll the great rebels we lost made me really sad again. What can I say? It's an amezing series, characters are juat amezing a love every single one of them (the rebels not the sultan) I loved the ending with the storyteller. I'm sad it's over I'll carry this story with me forever, this world is a part of me and it feels like home. I'm so glad and grateful to the author to have given life to this.

           holy shit. i can’t even. 

this has to be one of the best trilogies i’ve ever read in my life. all the books were amazing and the characters and everything wow. i can’t ask for more, this has everything i’ve ever wanted in a book. 

the characters were amazing. the places. the storyline. everything. i loved it so much. 

i was crying so so hard when amani and jin died. like. the hardest ever wow. it was so painful but so worth it. i will held all of them so close to my heart forever. i love everyone in this trilogy.

this was the best way to end. i lowkey think it would’ve been better with 3 or 4 more chapters because i felt the final battle was too quick but anyways i loved it so much i can’t

This book was amazing!!! I absolutely loved the ending! It’s one of the best endings I’ve ever read. I almost cried from how well written it was. 
The adventure and characters introduced in this novel(one djinni in particular) were so amazing and interesting. I loved to see how Amani dealt with everything and her arc was so incredible.
I didn’t really like the stories from different characters mixed in between, because it felt out of place, but the writing for them was incredible. The last chapter was amazing.
The romance was so incredible and I loved the scenes that were in the book. They weren’t overpowering and it wasn’t the main thing in the book, which I enjoyed. 
The journey and world building in the book is fantastic! I loved it all so much.

Favourite book of the series. Loved the ending, thought some idea were rushed but loved the world building especially the ‘man in the mountain’. Just wished there was more development of Jin and Shazad!!

a great conclusion to a great series

Hero at the Fall is the final installment of the Rebel of the Sands trilogy and i'm quite satisfied with how it went

i loved the chapters in third person and how they almost had a fairytale type of vibe

i enjoyed the worldbuilding, (thought it was a bit soft and i would have loved to see more of what the Albish can do) and it was probably my favorite part of the book

i find amani a bit irritating but i adore jin

Okay it took me a while to read this because I didn't want this story to end.... but this book was so good!!! Just as the other two. The first one will always be my favourite but this one is a close second. 

Jin and Amani are my favourite ship ever ever ever. "All that I am I give to you, and all that I have is yours." I sobbed so much at the almost end and my heart broke but I'm glad it turned out okay ❤️❤️❤️❤️

           This book was so amazing and I didn't want to finish it, because then I knew the series would end. I loved all the characters and the action throughout this book. The sisterly relationship between Amani and Shazad is one of my absolute favorites out of any book I read and, of course, the romantic relationship between Jin and Amani made me love this book even more. The only reason I took a star away is because so many of my favorite characters died and it really tore me apart. Yes, I know, they're in a war, but Sam's death just felt unneeded and it didn't feel right with me.

I'm slightly deflated by this book. Not because it was particularly bad (I've read worse), but because I had greater expectations for this book. Especially since the second one took my breath away. 

Book Summary: In the final installment of the Rebel of the Sands trilogy, half of the rebellion including the Rebel Prince Ahmed are imprisoned while the other half is dead. Crowned as the unofficial "leader" of the rebellion, Amani regroups what's left of the rebels in hopes to locate and free her prince and defeat the Sultan. 

We follow Amani, Hala, Sam, Jin, Tamid, and the twins Izz and Mazz as they set out to escape from the capital city Izman through underground tunnels, walls of fire, carnivorous mountains, on top of shapeshifting animals and gliding across the seas for the battle of their lives in order to save Miraji once and for all.

Okay so I expected a punch to the gut but what I received is a slap on the back. So I felt the hit but not as much as I would have liked. The setting and world building is great, I loved the mythical elements and the folklore that is consistent throughout the book in fact its one of the main things that got me reading the series in the first place. I liked the elements of spirituality and the different beliefs of the different countries that we got to see and experience as readers. 

The main plot lines were predictable and I would have liked to be taken by surprise more. Despite this, the plot lines were written solidly where there was an action scene it was action packed, where there was romance it delivered, and so on. This was a major reason why it got a lower score.

The other reason centered around the characters. I loved them mind you, but I wished that some of them were written with more depth or written in a way that allowed me to really care for them. Characters like Bilal, Izz, Mazz, and Rahim needed more depth while Amani, Jin, Leyla, Shazad were star characters that stood out.

Speaking of Amani, I actually liked that she was flawed, and that she couldn't be the "best" leader there is. It just shows that not every main protagonist must be the "ruler" or the "leader". There was great dynamic and balance among the characters that did not allow for one character to be overshadowed by the other. 

I really wished there was more to this series as I loved so many elements and characters in it. Here's what I'm not happy about (view spoiler)[ Sam and Shazad, why didn't they end up together!!? I was rooting for them so bad.  (hide spoiler)].

 Do I recommend? Ultimately I would recommend I think it's something more unique than the other YA series out there, but I wouldn't place it in my top 5.

Amani voelde anders aan, het verhaal gaat vele kanten op zonder echt een doel te hebben. Het einde was zelfs een anti climax. Helaas....

I'm so torn between sadness that it's over and elation because it was so so good! I think this was quite possibly the best way to finish this series. I cried a couple of times, cheered a number of times and held by breath through entire chapters. I've very much enjoyed joining Amani on her journey and cannot thank Alwyn Hamilton enough for bringing her into our lives. If you haven't read this series yet I encourage you to pick it up immediately.
