I think it is an okay book. I can understand why people love it, but it took a while before I even liked it. The start of the book was a bit too much "not this again" for me. If I didn't have to read it for a bookclub, it would be one of few books I never finished because of the start of it. But I pulled through and it got somewhat better. In the end I kind of liked the book and really wanted to read it. The tension built up nicely and the style of writing is nice. Also loved the way magic had a place in this world. So not entirely my cup of tea, but still a decent cup of tea.

This book was utterly magnificent!
