We’d figure it out." yes i definitely loved this more than corrupt. brother's bestfriend turned enemy(?) with a little mix of arrange marriage trope. i love kai and banks. their story has so much depth. alsooo the steam room scene in the first book has nothing versus chap22! i think i love u penelope douglas. as someone who loves halloween this series is everything to me already. i can't wait to read damon and will's.  “You make me feel driven. A non-creepy and rapey love interest? Color me surprised.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 THIS BOOK WAS ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL. I highly highly recommend this book if you loved reading Corrupt ! Corrupt was my first dark romance book , i was so obsessed and attached to it i of course, had to get the second book from the Devil’s Night series, and all i can say it i am so effing glad i did. I remember reading Corrupt and I was so captivated by Kai, he seemed so mysterious and closed off compared to Michael, who the first book was dedicated to. In Hideaway, we get a glimpse in his past with the other horsemen way before they meet Rika. We meet Banks, a closed off tomboy with a firey personality. She IS the definition of bad ass. I LOVED Erika but compared to Banks .... she was a little dumb at times 😭😭 BANKS THO ... she was smart and detailed and her backstory, as well as Kai’s broke me. This book IS A PAGE TURNER. I read it alll night and even woke up early to read it some more. The mystery and kind of the plot of this book seemed a bit dragged on to me, but the tension between Kai and Banks is what kept me 😳 I love them so much 😭😭 I cant wait to read Kill Switch the third book !! All I can say is, Kai Mori has my heart.

god, i had to re-read it for the 4th time; sometimes my brain just kept going to kaibanks and to devil's night in general, so i just knew that i had to read it again and pdouglas… i love you istg- the constant tension between kai and banks bc of her relationship with damon & the little insides of will & damon friendship as well nik's relationship with damon and seeing michaelrika crumbs agh AMAZING. everything fan-fucking-tastic. - "And a Devil's Night, so long ago, when a boy who used to be me hunted a girl who might be like Rika in a place that just may be that very same dark hotel out the window right now. But unlike tonight, he didn't stop." - "We all need to face him, especially Will. He's floundering without Damon." "Damon tried to kill him," "Yeah." "His best friend tried to kill him." "We're his best friends." "Damon and Will were always closer.""Just like the two of us are closer. Will needs Damon. You know he's spiraling. He needs to face him. " - "You fit me like a shirt. SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER THAN THE FIRST

not sure how I feel about this one, I had high expectations after corrupt but this just didn’t hit as hard. Love Kai with all my heart but the book was hard to get through also felt like it jumped a lot and was hard to keep up with

I actually loved this book so much more than I did the first. Kai was immediately much more fascinating and getting to see another relationship dynamic between a horsemen and Damon was interesting. Wasn't too much of a fan of Banks, I found her a bit insufferable at the start, but as the story progressed I guess I could tolerate her. This felt like it had more of a plot than the first, with romance feeling more like a sub-plot which I love since I can't really stand romances in themselves. This kept me entertained the whole way through, rather than me feeling obligated to finish the book to see when they inevitably get together.

Love these books. If you like toxicity then a recommend this series to you. Kai might be one of my favourite of the four horsemen so I really enjoyed this book.

Oh damn I fucking love Kai and everything about this book. It kept me on edge 24/7 😭

4 out of 5 stars. Okay, Hideaway, here we go. Did I mention how much I love the back and forth in Timelines? I enjoy it so much because if Penelope knows how to do one thing that is engaging her readers. I love how it leaves me with questions and keeps me turning the pages. The introduction to Banks’ character was brilliant and I loved her character from the getgo. She is feisty, loyal, sharp, and overall a powerhouse of a woman. Kai, on the other hand, doesn’t do it for me. Don’t get me wrong, I like his character and all but what can I say? I am not obsessed with him the way I am with Banks and other characters in this series. Speaking of other characters...The star of the show (apart from Banks of course) in my opinion was Damon. I have such a soft spot for Damon. I have nothing to say for myself except that I am a sucker for villains. I have been living and breathing for this series and this series only the past few days and looking forward to the rest of it. See you in Kill Switch.

this book made me understand damon's character and tbh it felt like this was his book bcs he had more scenes than kaibanks T___T i still loved it tho !!
