Holly Jackson, why do you always have to make endings like that?!?!?!?! 😭😭

This is a pretty good book. If you’re reading this after “a good girl’s guide to murder” keep in mind that this is a different type of book. This is not a trilogy, but you could say that it’s still divided into main chapters. Fast paced, never felt bored reading this.
Loved how everything was explained, and how the circle finally closed. The last 100 pages or so were fucking dope!

holy shit dude

3.5/5⭐️
This didn’t amount to what I wanted to be. The idea was so far-fetched and the ultimate execution of it wasn’t my favorite. I always enjoy Holly Jackson’s writing but storytelling I know what it can mount to. Now I will say I was satisfied by what happened to one character because I haven’t hated a character so much than this one. That consequences of action were needed but this was so crazily done. It was a whodunnit but in an RV? Yeah if anyone has ever been in a RV let alone with six grown people they were getting around that thing like it was a penthouse suite😂

Fast paced and easy read. Only got one mark off because the main characters inner voice was difficult to read hahah.

only cause it’s Jackson she’s pretty dope

I don’t even know what to say except for fuck Oliver you got what you deserved

Holly Jackson is an instant read for me.
This book was so good, the characters and the evolution of what happens inside the RV are amazing. I loved it, if I could i would reread it again for the first time.
Red was such an interesting main character, she was unreliable obviously, but she was so different from Pip that i loved it.
My only gripe was the ending, i just wanted more. It was a little unsatisfying, with the very end being up in the air much like how agggtm ended.

So finishing this book was so fun. I enjoyed every minute of it. The twists, the turns, and THE BETRAYAL!! Ugh it was so good. I love Hollys work and i love her writing and stories. I wanted more of them. Like i wanted to know how Maddy feels about everything, if her dad got it together, i wanted to know how Red feels about EVERYTHING. Just a good read but im giving it a 4 star because it gives me more questions at the end than answers.

The plot twist was amazing!!

I LOVED "A Good Girl's Guide to Murder" and the writing style that Holly Jackson brought to it, but I absolutely did not like this book very much. The writing style felt very fanfic and thrown together super quickly. I know there's only so much that can happen in an RV that breaks down in the middle of the woods story, but I'm shocked I finished this book honestly. Just not executed as well as I thought it would be after reading other Holly Jackson books.

I've heard amazing things about Jackson's writing, so I was looking forward to picking this up. It was fine. I thought the premise was a lot better than the execution. I loved the idea of this group of kids being stuck in the middle of nowhere while someone picks them off. I expected it to be tense and suspenseful, but it wasn't. I also didn't like any of the characters, so it didn't make a difference to me who lived or died. Everything played out like a CW teen drama. What kept me going was the pacing. The story happens at breakneck speed, which is what you want in a thriller. Was it predictable? Yes. Was it over the top? Yes. Did I still find it slightly entertaining? A bit, yeah. So while it wasn't super impressive, I'd still recommend it if you're looking for a quick thriller to pick up.

jesus

I really liked the plot twisted. Super easy and quick read

I read this in the span of a day, so that should tell you all you need to know about how good this book was.
HOWEVER,
and this is more of a pet peeve than anything else, but sometimes the dialect Holly Jackson writes in is so distinctly British English it pains me.
This could be due to the fact that I minored in linguistics and am a self-proclaimed linguistics nerd, but there are some sentences that are not grammatical to most American English speakers. The thing is, there's such detail paid to things like Simon saying "youse guys"--a phrase commonly used in the northern United States, but not when it comes to other general American grammaticality. I'm being harder on this because it takes place in the US--in AGGGTM, the UK version takes place in the UK and the US version takes place in the US. These instances took me out of the narrative and were a little disjointing for me.

(spoilers)
the idea of the this book was really interesting like the whole idea of being trapped inside an rv. i really liked how the plot played out and that it unraveled at a good speed. oliver really got on my nerves but that was probably what jackson wanted anyways. i kind of figured the whole thing was going to have to do with the court case but i didn’t realize just how deep it was going to go! overall, this was a thrilling read.

I CANT BELIEVE I DIDNT PICK THIS UP SOONER I WAS LITERALLY SCREAMING AT THE END I NEED A NOVELLA TO THIS. HOLLY JACKSON I LOVE YOU AND YOU NEVER DISAPPOINT

i absolutely loved this book. it was so fast-paced but suspenseful. and the whole reveal at the end was so satisfying, i didn't see it coming but other people probably would've. what i really enjoyed the most was oliver's descent into madness as the book went on, and it was a really good way of showing how being in uncomfortable situations change people. this is the only holly jackson book i've read but i will definitely be checking out her other books.

holy fucking shit. holly jackson did it again.
this book absolutely blew my mind like it was just so insanely good. the beginning was a bit confusing because there were so many characters and i’m shit with names so i had to write them down and make the connection between everyone but after that i just couldn’t stop reading. i mean, i had to put the book down like every two pages because oliver was pissing me off so much (istg worst character to ever exist) but i guess that just shows how well holly writes her characters.
if i’m being honest, i might even go as far as saying that this book is way better than the a good girl’s guide to murder trilogy and that means smt because those books were extremely good.
anyways, i think everybody should go and read this book (and please go and hate on oliver as well cuz honestly he’s just horrible and i’m really impressed by everyone who was in that rv and didn’t just stab him cuz i would have definitely done that)

HOLLY JACKSON DID IT AGAIN.
Highlights

That was when Red knew for certain that she and Oliver Lavoy did not live in the same world. She could never hear a helicopter and think it was sent for her. No one loved her enough for that.

Just Red and Just Arthur, and they should probably just stay that way, because she didn't know how to be somebody's someone.

making it say whatever she wanted it to. You could do that with memories too, sometimes. Lie to yourself, think fake thoughts to cover the ones you didn't want.

You couldn’t do that with dead moms, though, rebuild them. They stayed gone.

That was still hurt. It always did.
