Good Girl, Bad Blood (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, Book 2)
Reviews

most of the book is eh but when it gets good it gets GOOD. If this was like a standalone it would be deemed so much better since it’s in the middle and the first and last book is so amazing it makes this one seem bad when it isn’t at all.

"Good Girl, Bad Blood" es una emocionante secuela que continúa la historia de Pip Fitz-Amobi, la astuta y decidida protagonista de "A Good Girl's Guide to Murder".

Another very thrilling and eye-catching book. LOVE U HOLLY JACKSON AAAAA

3⭐️ ⚠️THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS⚠️ Good Girl, Bad Blood is a YA mistery book and the second of the trilogy (already completed) by Holly Jackson called A Good Girl's Guide To Murder. Pippa is a senior year student. She becomes famous when she solves a cold case about a missing girl, but she’s not a detective anymore. With the help of Ravi Singh, she released a true-crime podcast about the murder case they solved together last year. The podcast has gone viral, yet Pip insists her investigating days are behind her. But she will have to break that promise when someone she knows goes missing. Jamie Reynolds has disappeared but the police won't do anything about it. And if they won't look for Jamie then Pip will, uncovering more of her town's dark secrets along the way - and this time everyone is listening. But will she find him before it's too late? ➵Some people are pretty good at hiding who they really are. ➵I think we all get to decide what good and bad and right and wrong mean to us, not what we’re told to accept. -The characters: The main character is obviously Pip, and I really liked her in the first book but I have mixed opinions about her now… There are some things that I really don’t understand about her: first of all, although she’s changed so much because of the events that occurred with the Andie Bell case (which I can totally understand) I found her annoying most of the time. I don’t think she’s a bad character, but c’mon girl GIVE US SOMETHING, you are rude to every person that surrounds you, and PLEASE have some fun, istg no one will blame you for it. She battles her own insecurities and the mounting pressure of the public gaze on her every move. I liked how she is conflicted about returning to the dark, twisted path of investigating and is aware of the potential consequences of her actions, but again, it consumed her to a point that I didn’t like. All in all, she’s good but I’m having mixed feelings about her now. I’ll just have to wait to read the third book to have a complete opinion about her. It was a huge disappointment that some characters who brought so much to the first book have much less of a part to play here. Cara,(Pip’s best friend) barely appears, and it felt like she was there for moral support or just to complete the group of four searching for Jamie. Of course we have Connor with Pip and Ravi to try to solve where his brother is, but my thoughts about him are neutral. Also, I love Ravi with all of my heart and he is such a likeable presence but although he is involved in a lot of the story it felt like all he did was either provide Pippa with reassurance or come out with a playful remarks every once in a while. ➵It’s hard to climb back out of the hole once you’ve dug in your heel. My honest opinion: This is not a bad book, I just expected way more. I think A Good Girl's Guide to Murder was better and this lacked so many things. So, while the first book kept me on a chokehold and I couldn’t stop reading it (even though I guessed everything beforehand), this one just bored me to death. 1. Ravi and Pip’s relationship felt like they were friends and not a couple. I know this is not a romance book but Pip acted really weird towards Ravi and he was always initiating everything like he had to ask for it. I didn’t like the way Pip acted towards him when he just only wants to help her the best way possible. 2. The worldbuilding was really simple, nothing out of the ordinary so I would give it a 6/10. 3. There were some chapters that felt like they weren’t necessary at all, and some others that were incredibly rushed. 4. I guessed everything, again. No plot twists surprised me whatsoever and I’m about to explain why. 5. You are telling me that in mystery books the authors introduce characters only to appear in one chapter and not expect me to suspect about them? I knew who Layla was since Charlie appeared, it was SO obvious. This happens most of the times and I don’t see the point in doing it. Like please SURPRISE ME, TELL ME IT WAS SOMEONE SUPER IMPORTANT!! OR YOU KNOW WHICH PLOT TWIST WOULD’VE BEEN AMAZING?? ONE OF PIP’S FRIENDS!!!!!! Really, lately I can’t be surprised with any books of this genre, they’re SO predictable. 6. You are telling me that someone’s missing and the police do NOTHING???? Yeah they go where the knife is but 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼 that’s it? Really? You let someone to just solve the case just because??? Pip, my love, you’re not on the FBI please how do you know so much stuff? Again, live a little I swear nothing will happen. 7. Did I say I was bored and that it took me like 8 days to finish it? Well, that’s what happened. Will I read the third book? Of course, but my expectations have completely lowered. I swear Holly Jackson if you give Ravi a bad ending we’re going to have a conversation. If you like mystery books and you’re new to the genre, this trilogy is perfect to start with it. It’s not that dense and the cases are (in my opinion) easy. ➵She hadn’t almost lost herself, maybe she’d actually been meeting herself for the very first time. And she was tired of feeling guilty about it. Tired of feeling shame about who she was. -Check the trigger warnings before reading the book. Some topics might be disturbing to some readers (tw such as: murder, gun violence, death, kidnapping, child death, drugs, confinement, SA, blood, stalking, etc). (English is not my first language, if you find any mistakes please let me know).

When I had first gotten to what this book was actually about, i wasn't expecting to like it as much as AGGGTM. Boy was i wrong, i literally could not put this book down!

Talk about creepy

how am i suppose to live, laugh, and love in these conditions?

captivating, more predictable than the first. picture evidence and podcast dialogue is enjoyable.

I like how there are pictures of evidence, interviews, edited pictures with writing from their investigation and more

oh. my. gosh. i did NOT expect that. i’m not going to saying anything about the ending but trust me it was…yeah…i don’t even know what words to use to finish that sentence. so, so good! such a good mystery! i love pip and ravi soooooo much! holly’s writing style is so interesting and engaging and i never got tired of reading! THIS SERIES IS SO GOOD WHAT THE CRAP!

Holly Jackson never fails in this series. Immediately purchasing As Good As Dead, the 3rd book of this series, when I find the the paper back version.
