An easy fantasy read with fae, vampires and spice
The plot was fast paced and the world building a bit lacking, I would have liked to have read more about how the magic system works and more history about the starblessed but overall a great book

This is only like 1/3 of a book, and that’s probably being generous. It had no plot, no world-building, no descriptions of the magic system, and almost no character building. For a romantasy book, there was absolutely no chemistry between the FMC and MMC. There was no reason for them to basically be in insta-love - they barely had three conversations and most of them were just the MMC saying something lewd and the FMC immediately panting over it. The only good thing about this book is it was mercifully short. Spare yourself the time because this was not it. I won’t be continuing the series.

An easy fantasy read with fae, vampires and smut. The plot was fast paced and the world building a bit lacking, I would have liked to have read more about how the magic system works and more history about the starblessed but overall a great book. This book was an easy read, with a quick paced plot, well written characters and lots of spice. Evren might be one of my favorite book boyfriends after reading this

Five stars aren't enough, I absolutely loved this book. I wish I could read this in a day but I needed some sleep. I loved Adara and Evren, their relationship was chef kiss. It had my heart breaking and smiling. I have also never hated a character so much since Dolores Umbridge. Holly Renee's writing was so easy to get into and the pacing was excellent. It wasn't a fast insta love but you could see the confusion that Adara was dealing with, I loved that. I read it on KU and added the physical copy to my wishlist. Now I am on to book two.

If ACOTAR, FBAA, and These Hollow Vows had a love child, this would be it. That's not a bad thing per se--I enjoyed all of those series (granted I do have my criticisms of each). I think this book is fun, spicy, and easy to follow, so for anyone who doesn't want something too deep, this is the book for you, especially if you like fae and vampyres:).
Also, this book ends on a cliffhanger, so be prepared to frantically flip pages to find nothing left.

I mean, it was basically from blood and ash but without the 400 pages of unnecessary world building. Do with that information as you wish.
