Illiad

The Illiad is the oldest extant work of Western literature and widely regarded as the most influential, establishing literary standards and conventions that writers have imitated over the centuries. Set during the Trojan War, the Greek epic tells of the battles and events during the last weeks of the war, in the midst of a dispute between King Agamemnon and the legendary warrior Achilles.
