HOPE AGAIN

“𝚂𝚎𝚒𝚗𝚎 𝙰𝚞𝚐𝚎𝚗 𝚠𝚒𝚛𝚔𝚝𝚎𝚗 𝚠𝚒𝚎 𝚏𝚕𝚞̈𝚜𝚜𝚒𝚐𝚎𝚜 𝚂𝚒𝚕𝚋𝚎𝚛.” [~ “𝙷𝚒𝚜 𝚎𝚢𝚎𝚜 𝚜𝚎𝚎𝚖𝚎𝚍 𝚕𝚒𝚔𝚎 𝚕𝚒𝚚𝚞𝚒𝚍 𝚜𝚒𝚕𝚟𝚎𝚛.”]

Hope Again is the fourth book in the “Again Series” by Mona Kasten, in which Everly Penn begins an adventure of love, lust and most of all hurting.
I’m not gonna lie or hold back with this review, because first of all: the description of this book makes it seem like a whole other thing than what it actually is. It sounds way more exciting than it turned out to be, in my opinion.
The plot was very predictable, the so-called “secret” love interest Nolan had, was so so obvious and the main character Everly was painly dramatic. I get that her past makes loving hard and all, but her behavior was weird and not fitting and simply over-dramatic. I sadly did not connect with either of the protagonists at all. The whole love story felt forced and not real whatsoever, plus I am not the biggest fan of student-teacher-romances (duh) so this book sadly did not really catch me.

I do like Mona Kastens writing style though and I enjoyed all the details in this book, like all the parallels to the previous books and I still love the characters from the first three books! Blake’s character was also very intriguing and I am excited to read more about him in the next book.

All in all the book wasn’t as good as I expected, but it was indeed bingeable - I read it in like 2 days - so it gets a 3 out of 5 stars from me.

(once again I read this book in german, but I do think there is a translation to english)

Jennifer Leest
