Bis jetzt für mich das beste Buch aus der Reihe....diesmal habe ich mich definitiv mehr in die Protagonistin hineinversetzen können, auch wenn auch dieses Buch ein bisschen vorhersehbar war. Trotzdem hat diese Geschichte bis jetzt die meisten Gefühle in mir wecken können.

I’m not gonna lie or hold back with this review, because first of all: the description of this book makes it seem like a whole other thing than what it actually is. It sounds way more exciting than it turned out to be, in my opinion. The plot was very predictable, the so-called “secret” love interest Nolan had, was so so obvious and the main character Everly was painly dramatic. I get that her past makes loving hard and all, but her behavior was weird and not fitting and simply over-dramatic. I sadly did not connect with either of the protagonists at all. The whole love story felt forced and not real whatsoever, plus I am not the biggest fan of student-teacher-romances (duh) so this book sadly did not really catch me. I do like Mona Kastens writing style though and I enjoyed all the details in this book, like all the parallels to the previous books and I still love the characters from the first three books! Blake’s character was also very intriguing and I am excited to read more about him in the next book. All in all the book wasn’t as good as I expected, but it was indeed bingeable - I read it in like 2 days - so it gets a 3 out of 5 stars from me. (once again I read this book in german, but I do think there is a translation to english)
Acho que o meu problema com este livro foi as expectativas que meti nele. O Nolan era das personagens que mais tinha curiosidade em conhecer melhor e desejava, MUITO, a história dele e quando finalmente veio foi… divertida, no máximo. Acho que o livro foi um pouco cansado e desconexo completo dos outros, apenas tenho pequenas referências para fazer parte da “série”. Se tivesse funcionado como stand-alone, provavelmente teria resultado melhor para mim. Por vezes, achei que a protagonista tomava decisões completamente fora da personagem e agia como uma pessoa que não parecia ela própria. Independente te de tudo, gostei do livro e continuo a adorar o Nolan, só acho mesmo que ambos os protagonistas mereciam um livro melhor.
** spoiler alert ** Comencé a leerme esta serie de libros con la única intención de leer el tercero y olvidarme del resto. ¿Qué pasó? Me leí tres de los cinco libros que conforman esta serie y, me confundí y me terminé leyendo el cuarto pensando que era el tercero, y bueno... acá estamos. Técnicamente no es necesario leerse los libros en orden para entender todo, se podría decir que cada uno es bastante autoconclusivo, pero hay un encanto cuando los otros protagonistas hacen cameos en los otros libros y te dan una vaga idea de lo que feliz que son luego de sus respectivos finales. Pero bien... ¿Cuál es mi principal problema con este libro? Primero, no soporto el bendito cliché de "alumna se enamora del profesor, y este le corresponde"; puede que la protagonista sea lo suficiente mayor para elegir de quién enamorarse, puede que estén en la universidad y básicamente sean adultos, y puede que el interés amoroso no sea tan mayor. Pero me sigue desagradando, hasta tal punto que deseaba profundamente que la protagonista olvidara ese enamoramiento y se quedara con el amigo, de verdad, lo hubiera preferido. Además, el interés amoroso me caía mal, así que aunque olvidara el asunto del trope de estudiante/profesor, no sería fan de esta pareja en lo absoluto. Segundo, ¿Por qué la autora está tan empeñada en que cada protagonista/interés amoroso tenga una historia tan trágica detrás y carguen con ese terrible recuerdo en el presente? Me gusta el drama, no lo voy a negar, pero llega a un punto que me agota un poco. Sin duda, este es (y será) el libro que menos me gustó de toda la serie.
