Fairly basic but interesting in that it presented a historical look at a youth employed in what many might consider to be a low quality job and his struggle to improve his lot in life. Along the way Ragged Dick learns the value of savings, the importance of persistence, and most importantly perhaps the power of paying it forward.

A quick read but I enjoyed it very much.
