HOT DAMN. Something must be wrong with me. I’m sure of it. Because I love love love love dark, griddy, forbidden and suspenseful reads. It makes my heart full. What can I tell you? This book was great. Brooke Carson is sweet, innocent, naive, and shows true and real feelings. Stone Keaton is hard, ruff, possessive, and such an alpha. I don’t even know what to say about this book. I love the chemistry between Brooke and Stone, they just fit together so well. It’s such a game of cat and mouse and they have such an unruly passion for one another. I need to own this book and I just can’t wait to read more by both Skye Warren and Annika Martin. They’ve enchanted me with their words, impeccable detail and well developed characters. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I received a copy of Need You Now, a collection from Top Shelf Romance in exchange for an honest review. This book was included in that collection.

what a way to ruin what was a perfectly dark book with that unrealistic ending. i went into this book knowing it was going to be a fave because it was stone's story and knew i was in for a harsh, cold-blooded character. i went into this expecting frank castle and all i got in the end was a fucking disney movie type of ending. everything good that i was feeling towards this book was completely ruined with a fucking utopian ending and with the heroine acting like the dumbest and most infuriating person ever. and it bothers me because nothing that happened in the end was realistic. i can understand stone wanting to give up the path of revenge for brooke but what i can't believe, not even for a second, is the rest of the guys just going along with it, changing their entire mentality in a fucking second just like that. oh yeah, maybe we shouldn’t kill anyone anymore, let's just let the law and the cops bring justice to these guys, who would have thought that our entire lives' mission was just that simple to give up! and all because of freaking brooke. someone who they just met. someone who kept the information about a crucial member of a child kidnapping and child prostitution sex ring A SECRET because it so happened to be (view spoiler)[her father (hide spoiler)] and she didn't want them to kill him. someone who kept saying her (view spoiler)[father (hide spoiler)] wasn't guilty and that he should get a pass just because he wasn't "that involved" as the other disgusting pieces of shit who were part of the sex ring. the heroine, knowing that little children were being sexually assaulted, raped, beaten and tortured, refused to give up the name to stone just to protect (view spoiler)[her father (hide spoiler)] knowing he was somehow involved in what happened to all those boys. please tell me how a person with common sense would go along with that? i don't care if it were my father, mother or my goddamned sister, if i ever found out something like that about anyone i know i would be the first one dragging them to the motherfucking police and expecting them to rot in jail. she only cared about saving (view spoiler)[her father's ass, (hide spoiler)] not the boys. if it would have been any other person she would have not given two fucks and would have handed them the name on a silver platter, letting the crew kill him, which is why this whole book was ruined for me. the selfish and hypocritical actions of the heroine and then the neat and utopian ending with every bad guy being brought to justice regardless of how powerful they were (i mean we're talking about a goddamned federal judge here) was completely unrealistic. i came to this story expecting a realistic and raw ending, not some hollywoodesque one. maybe it was only me wanting the guys to exact revenge on the ones responsible for their abuse, but this just left me disappointed. and i guess with everyone in jail now there's no point in writing any more books about the rest of the guys since they no longer have a mission to fulfill, which is sad.
