Does she fall in love with someone that she can't be herself with or someone that she feels most like her true self with? Read to find out. I enjoyed the story Kristy Boyce wrote. The characters were easy to like. I give this book a 3 out of 5 stars. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Despite knowing where this story was going from the beginning, I couldn't help but find this story light, refreshing, and absolutely adorable.

This book was not what i expected off the bat, but I really loved this book by the end. I really liked the main character and also loved the setting. The romance was not what i expected but such a fun read. I also really loved the travel elements featuring england and france, he reminded me so much of my own college trips. I also loved the focus on friendships and the focus on finding your own path in life!! Such a cute read!!

I had a blast reading this book. It was fun, adventurous, and included travel! Now I will say the adult part of me wanted to caution some of the decisions of the main characters, but my teen self was was cheering her on. I had to laugh at how our main character is in love with the British accent because... well same. The beginning of the book did Kinda give me second-hand embarrassment, so if that happens to you then be careful. Outside of that, I had an awesome time reading this book. I would recommend it if you are looking for a fun, easy to read YA romance!

I had really high expectations for this book. I was let down... It was really slow. I was going to put it as a DNF but decided to push through. Not really worth it to be honest. I feel kinda bad saying all this but it’s just my opinion.

Overall, I did enjoy reading this swoon-worthy romance set in the beautiful city of Northampton, however, there were some parts that made me cringe a little. The main one was how obsessed Ellie was with boys and getting a boyfriend that she abandoned her friends to meet up with Will, a boy who caught her eye.

Ellie is a lovely person and very kind, but she can be very immature and cares way to much about what others think of her. When she arrives in England, the first thing on her mind is to find a boyfriend straight away, even abandoning her friends so she can spend time with Will. She also is so oblivious to most things around her, even when it’s so obvious to everyone else.

I loved reading about Ellie’s time in England. Emberton Manor sounds like such an amazing place to live, I wish I could go there myself. This book gives great travel vibes and I can’t wait to get back to England now! Hot British Boyfriend is a fun, cute contemporary that I think would be enjoyed by younger ya readers.

Ok so I loved this book. For so many adorable little reasons. So I’ll start where I typically do: the romance.

It is absolutely the CUTEST. Disclaimer, it is kind of a love triangle if you’re sworn against those (and YES this is my third book in a row with a love triangle, what in the world??). However, it’s a really interesting love triangle. The end result is obvious pretty early on - in all honesty, it’s pretty obvious in the synopsis. But the love triangle works with the main character’s development as she discovers herself and what her worth is in a relationship, and the alternate love interest isn’t a bad guy, he’s just not right for her. It has a little more depth than the typical triangle, and I didn’t hate it 🤷. In fact, the cute slow-burn moments are PERFECT! All the lil feels!

I also loved all the characters; in that way, it reminded me a lot of Anna and the French Kiss (aka the best YA contemporary romance and you can’t convince me differently). There’s a great friend group that develops between Ellie and three other students on the trip, who help her find herself and see her own potential. I really loved their dynamic, and my Enneagram 6 soul cringed when she hung out with her boyfriend instead of them ahaha. Plus, the travel vibes! The book mainly takes place in England on a school trip, which is amazing in itself, but they visit various other places in Europe, and the travel vibes are perfect! It hyped me up for my own trip to Europe this summer!

Overall, this book isn’t perfect, and I can’t claim that it’s the most philosophical book I’ve ever read, but there are still themes to learn from and great characters, character development, romance, and settings to fall in love with! I highly recommend this book if you love books with travel and/or cute, easy-to-read romances with a lil depth!
