I picked the wrong book to read while what was happening in the US in the early weeks of January!!

The book is nicely written, it is easy to read and follow. The author gives you several examples from mainly Turkey and other countries. However, I disagree with the extending of her argument to the other democracies. Turkey has never had a healthy democracy with good track record. It is far fetched to extend it to the other countries, like Britain or US where the two countries have had decades with healthy democracies. Don't get me wrong, things are not perfect in these two countries, but they are Turkey.

However, I appreciate her giving us this "clues" which we can look for, but as she said in the beginning of the book, you see these clues and ignore it, but like everything, there is a tipping point from where thing don't get normal.
