Fantastic insights. The first book I would recommend to anyone who wants to know how to read and approach the Bible. There is a lot of information within these pages and I may have enjoyed it more if I had read it slower with an open Bible.

A little bit dry at times but an incredibly helpful book when it comes to reading the Bible contextually.

I found this book very informative. Riddled with methods for studying and interpreting the Bible, this book can be a little dense. Fee goes into great detail in outlining the different genres of the Bible and what a modern reader should do to properly interpret each book. The author describes the hallmarks of certain genres (like genealogies, narratives, poetry, apocalyptic literature, etc.) and enables us to approach such literature in the same way as the original readers. This book can be a bit difficult to read at times, but the depth with which Fee covers such difficult topics is incredibly helpful.
