How do you lead a fulfilling life? That profound question animates this book of inspiration and insight from world-class business strategist and bestselling author of The Innovator’s Dilemma, Clayton Christensen.

How Will You Measure Your Life?

Clayton M. Christensen

From the world’s leading thinker on innovation and New York Times bestselling author of The Innovator’s Dilemma, Clayton M. Christensen, comes an unconventional book of inspiration and wisdom for achieving a fulfilling life. Christensen’s The Innovator’s Dilemma, notably the only business book that Apple’s Steve Jobs said “deeply influenced” him, is widely recognized as one of the most significant business books ever published. Now, in the tradition of Randy Pausch’s The Last Lecture and Anna Quindlen’s A Short Guide to a Happy Life, Christensen’s How Will You Measure Your Life is with a book of lucid observations and penetrating insights designed to help any reader—student or teacher, mid-career professional or retiree, parent or child—forge their own paths to fulfillment.

Thought provoking

A book that takes a look at life's meaning from an academic standpoint. I enjoyed it and will review portions that need to be revisited

I did not really relate to the author's persona, but still found a few useful things to take away. His take on finding purpose in a balanced life and creating a family culture when raising children were interesting new concepts.

The book contains interesting ideas however I think it’s targeted to an audience of parents (most of the chapters include insights regarding education and children). It was a nice listen though.

Philip Young

Excellent book. I will go back and read this one again...

This book was quite a handful.

Clayton M. Christensen is the person you'd expect the least to write a book about getting your shit together and grow, but whooop there it is.

I read semi technical business books, that are more hands on or very thorough in their explanation/analysis of certain thing such as a company, a business model, a success or a failure.

So I was very curious about this book. It doesn't dissappoint, doesn't change your life either but it feels like a nice reminder, like a nice breeze on a summer afternoon that makes you reflect how good you're having it. That fleeting sense of "bien être"that lingers for a few seconds.

I loved the fact that he explained all his other business books (about 80% of each chapter) and then he applied it to areas of personal growth (the remaining 20%). I don't know if it ALL makes sense, but I kinda liked that I was getting a 2x1 combo: Business AND personal life advice in the same book!. I'm an solo founder so I enjoyed this book, but I'm quite sure this is not for everyone. But if you're already a fan of Innovators Dilemma and the Jobs to be Done paper, you'll certainly enjoy this, never hurts to pause and look at your life.

**Also there are SO many chapters regarding parenting.... so if you don't have kids, might avoid this one til you do.

A refreshing guide from a leading expert in business management on how your approach to work and life yields fulfillment over time. Christensen balances well his theoretical knowledge with real-life experience to offer an engaging and unique business book.

Useful short book of mental models that you can use in your life. Great to learn more about Prof. Christensen and the thinking behind the theories he's developed over the course of his academic career.
