Well this book was super disappointing...Really glad i read this on Scribd and didn't buy it. I would have been PISSED OFF!!!!

Went in expecting horror and got i guess some sort of magical realism autobiography on the author's struggles, heartache, anger basically the whole cocktail of emotions when you have a sick spouse. 
Which don't get me wrong is honestly is super sad but i guess i still expected the book to be 🤷🏾‍♂️ horror??
So much of this book was Kate and her illness with very oh so very little horror until the tail end of chapter 28 or was it 29? Anyways one of those chapters. And that was less than 100 pages to the end of the book.

I have no bones with however personal an author wants to make their book but gosh at least warn readers in the blurb what they're getting into. I'm going into this book expecting you know horror not the bulk of what this book was. Super disappointing really.

The horrific nature of the last couple of chapters were spot on with rescuing the horror factor of the book and ugh that ending was so sad but yeah, if you're going to write horror gosh just give me horror from the start. Don't make me wade through over 200 pages of absolutely less than bare minimum horror then attempt to give me less than 100 pages of fright. Although it was more gore than fright with this book.

All in all, this book is majorly an ode to the author's emotions on coping with the very real emotions that people and his family specifically deal with, with having a sick spouse. While i could probably appreciate this story minus the chapters from 28 or 29 to the end in a literary fiction novel, it definitely did close to nothing for me here as a horror novel. It's like the author remembered at the tail end of the book that this was supposed to be a horror novel, then just decided to cram everything in at that point. 

I feel like i'm done with this my attempt at a horror marathon i've been trying to do. 
It's so hard finding really good horror novels.
