I Bet You
Reviews

3.5 stars. This was a decent book. I really enjoyed Ryker, he was different than your usual jock, but at times Penelope kind of annoyed me. I was also a little annoyed about the bet angle, but the twist to that did redeem it, just. This is a solid book, and I’m sure Ilsa’s fans will love it, it’s just not a favourite for me, sorry!

4.5

finally a book that doesn’t end in pregnancy or babies

felt like I was watching a movie. love that.

I have to start off by saying this author made my fangirl heart happy, not only with her dedication, but the different fandom references throughout the book (Twilight, Buffy, etc.). Any author who does this scores points with me. Of course, I can't judge a book only by this. Penelope is a very relatable character. She's nerdy (just like me), works hard at school and for her own money. Growing up with a football player father who wasn't really there definitely influences her opinion of football players. Ryker seems like your typical football player, but there's more to him than people realize. When his best friend got caught up in a scandal the year before, his name was dragged through the mud as well. Everyone thinks all he does is chase women, but that's not the only thing on his mind. Just like in I Dare You, I Bet You gives us a lot of laughing out loud moments and really sweet ones. Not many guys volunteer to watch Twilight, haha. I loved how Penelope and Ryker would tease each other and argue. The bet that Ryker will help Penelope get the geeky boy she likes makes things pretty interesting. Especially when it becomes clear there is definitely an attraction between them. Making bets isn't always a good thing though and it can come back to haunt you! Is this bet going to work out? Or is it going to ruin everything that's good? Add in some fun friendships, crazy pet bird and some family issues and you get I Dare You. I can't forget Penelope writing in her journal either, the scenes we got from there were definitely steamy. Pirate romances sound more interesting to me now, haha. Penelope and Ryker left a smile on my face and once again this teaches us, don't judge a book by its cover! Things aren't always what they seem. I really hope this author writes more in this series.

.... I don't know how I feel about it. I haven't read a new adult book in awhile so maybe I didn't lower my expectations enough.

I really, really liked both Penelope and Ryker. I enjoyed their banter and overall chemistry. Super cute and sexy new adult sports romance. This series keeps getting better!
