I Dare You
Reviews

2.25 i feel like i aged 10 years because of this book. again, some serious topics were not discussed properly by the author.

This had promise and then just kinda went down from there. Some things worked but some things just didn’t and ruined the relationship/romance for me. At least it was free.

Wtf Braiding the hairs of my asscrack is more interesting and thought provoking I could have learned a foreign language or invented an app but I will never get this time back

4.5 stars I was hooked right after reading the prologue. I knew there would be a lot more to them kissing at the bonfire their freshman year. A few years later, Delaney swore off athletes after her boyfriend cheated on her. That kind of crushed her. Right after seeing Maverick again though, the chemistry was there immediately. I loved the game of dare they had while texting. Delaney had no clue who he was at first and still went along with the dares. Ilsa Madden-Mills knows how to write a romance with a lot of fun moments, but also enough sexy and romantic moments. Maverick wasn't the typical football player and I appreciated that. There was so much more to him than meets the eye. The added family element made this story even more interesting. Maverick wasn't only playing for himself, but there was so much more at risk. I have to say the only thing that gets annoying, in any romance really, is that there are so many assumptions. Instead of talking something out when they see something, they think the worst and get upset. Maybe this is a lesson to us all that we should talk things out instead of just thinking we know what we saw. All in all, a really fun book. I can't wait to read more about the different characters in this series.

When I saw she was releasing a new adult football romance, I knew I had to read it. I love me a good football book and the timing was perfect considering the NFL Draft was happening and that always makes me thirsty for football anyway I can get it. I Dare You was a sweet and sexy book that I finished in one sitting. This book was fun and relatively fast-paced. I enjoyed the legend of the "first kiss" of freshman year and I liked following along as Delaney and Maverick got to know each other better. They had oodles of chemistry and I enjoyed the text message dares. (And the nerdy talk, of course.) It was also nice to have a new adult sports romance where the hero wasn't a) a total dudebro douche manwhore and b) the quarterback. (Though I'm currently reading another book where the hero is ALSO not a quarterback, so maybe this is becoming more of a trend.) Regardless, it worked for me. Maverick brought the swoons and the sexy and I really enjoyed it. There tends to be so much angst in new adult sometimes that it's refreshing to find a book that DOES NOT have a ton of angst. That was I Dare You. It was totally happy-making and adorable. I received a complimentary copy of this book for review consideration. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. FAVORITE QUOTES You know that moment when everything stops and the next breath you take is the first one of the rest of your life? That's what it feels like as Maverick Monroe stares at me with his piercing blue eyes. "Legend says the first person you kiss at the party is the one you'll never forget. It might be years later, and still their face is the one you dream about."
