4.5 star I Knead You Tonight is the second book in the Slices series, but can be read as a standalone. We meet Drew and Winston in A Pizza My Heart and I was very curious to see where their story would go. Drew is the funny best friend and Winston is the brother who has seen as lazy and a stoner. There is more to both or their stories and I just couldn't get enough. Drew hasn't had an easy life, she had to grow up way too soon and had to always work really hard. When she got pregnant unexpectedly, she was hoping the father would stick around and help her out, but that didn't happen. Now she's doing her best to give her son everything he needs. I loved Drew. She felt like such a real and genuine character. Teagan Hunter definitely made us feel for her. She works so hard to provide for her little boy, but just couldn't get back on her feet. Drew feels guilty and insecure, but she started getting more confident during this book and I thought that was done in such a subtle but amazing way. Winston hasn't been the same since a car accident a few years ago. He wasn't always a hard worker, but since the accident he's been seen as a lazy stoner basically. Winston didn't show up for work at the family business and would do so without notice. I had a feeling there was a lot more to his story than meets the eye and I was right! My heart broke for him while reading what he's going through. Winston was dealing with a lot of fear and insecurity. I guess he just needed a sarcastic and loud woman to get him going again. Drew and Winston had me laughing out loud so often while reading this book. I read it in one sitting! While I enjoyed A Pizza My Heart, this one had me hooked just a little bit more. I really came to care for these characters and little Riker. I Knead You Tonight is a heartwarming romance and she brought all of the emotions to life these characters were feeling. I am always amazed when authors can make me feel like that. Besides the heartwarming and laugh out loud moments, I Knead You Tonight was also pretty steamy, haha. Drew and Winston both had their own demons to fight, but came out stronger together and dared to go after their dreams. This isn't a story I'll be forgetting anytime soon. Also, readers will get a fun glimpse into Wren and Foster's life and it won't disappoint!

Emphasis on hate, because dang these two DID NOT like each other in the beginning. It’s been a while since I read a book with this much antagonistic behavior between the two main characters. But even as they were having a go at each other — and I don’t mean in a sexy way — there was undeniable chemistry between them. I knew it was going to get good (and hot) when everything finally exploded. I wasn't wrong. I've got to admit, I was a little unsure about Winston because quite frankly, he was a dick to Drew at times. But, he totally won me over and it really only took a few chapters. He was quite sweet under that prickly exterior. He was dealing with a lot and probably not doing it in the best way. Drew was good for him. Winston's time with Drew (and her son, Riley) helped him grow up. On the other hand, I adored Drew from the very beginning. She definitely didn't have the easiest life, being a single mom trying to support a baby, but she was driven and had a good heart. Winston's comments to her hurt MY feelings at times, with some of it bordering on bully romance. I'm just glad that didn't go on very long. My feelings about this book would've been very different if it had. But thankfully, it was resolved relatively quickly. Drew and Winston ended up being a really good match. Once they let go of all the nasty banter anyhow. They brought out the best in each other. I Knead You Tonight was funny, sweet and sexy. I've enjoyed what I've read in the Slice Series. (Side note: Teagan Hunter has THE BEST punny book titles. I'm obsessed.) The characters in this series are so fun and quirky. I hope to see more of them soon! I received a complimentary copy of this book for review consideration. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Favorite Quotes: I hate Drew Woods. But not because I don't like her. I hate her because I do like her... and she won't let me have her. Winston could either love me for a lifetime or shatter me in two. There is no in-between when it comes to us, and that's one hell of a gamble to take.

3.5-4
