O livro todo passa na perspectiva da menina, tentando achar a amiga dela, grieving over a mae dela tudo isso, ate q no final vc descobre q era tudo mentira, q ela era OBCECADA PELA AMIGA DELA e q tudo isso ela fez pcausa da amiga dela. No final, quando vc descobre muda a perspectiva pra perspectiva da amiga dela, que conta toda a verdade. Vc definitivamente nao espera que isso tudo foi planejado por ela, eh doidera real.

Muito catching mesmo, recomendo demais pq o turn of events eh radical demais. Muito bem escrito tambem, vc se convence com a historia da menina doida mas no final era tudo mentira vc fica tipo: 😨

I don't usually give books 5 stars but this book is just absolutely fantastic! I completely did not expect the ending to be as such and it's so good. I definitely recommend this book! Give it a try if you like thrillers and mystery

I remember not being impressed with Donaldson's debut novel either. I wondered, based on the cover art, if she wrote both books before checking goodreads. I did this as I first read because the start of this book did not really read like the other one, at least what I can remember of the other book. I found myself fascinated by the book, right up until the twist. Then, I hated the book. That twist was a cheap trick. Donaldson did not lay the groundwork well at all. An author who imagined a twist like that when starting this story would have laid clues somewhere along the way. Donaldson did none of that. That's why I dislike all of Agatha Christie's mysteries. They may have solutions in her head but she did not lay out the clues in a way that anyone else could pick up. I say the same about Donaldson. The only reason I rate the book two stars rather than one is because Donaldson does have decent prose in the book.
