My heart is full of ache and this was just beautiful. Tillie Walden is at her best when she talks about human emotions through a somewhat abstract lens. In this case, looking at queer love through subtly strange imagery that shifts throughout the book, returning to something almost normal at the end. Prepare for tragedy and a hollow feeling inside. Never has teenage love and heartbreak felt so weighty. Damn Walden and her beautiful illustrations that rip your chest apart!

A quiet and emotional depiction of a young sapphic relation between two teen girls. I loved the illustrations, the color palette, the usage of lines, shading, and negative space to capture the tone of the story, as well as give in the dreamy feeling of first love and the quiet tension of separation.
