This was a cute, quick read. In this book, librarians tell their stranger-than-fiction stories of what library patrons ask for, request of them or do in the library. Some are laugh out loud stories, some are disturbing and some are heartwarming. Anyone who is a library lover will enjoy this book.

I was rather "eh" through most of the book. Even if the conversations are a bit dated, the people that make you shake your head today were present -- probably the same odd people that were around 50 years ago (with less technology).

The items that saved the book were near the end -- the chapters about Cuckoo Carol, the children's library and the final chapter about heartwarming stories.

This book was touching, funny, and 100% accurate. As a public library employee, I could relate to just about every story and laughed when I thought of my own patrons who do the same things. 

I'd absolutely recommend this to anyone who works in a public library! Even if you don't, it'll will give you incredible insight into the strange, goofy, and heartwarming things one hears when working with the public.
