Fairly good so far, but these comics are mostly table-setting at this point. No more "freedom fighters," now we have "the resistance." There are only five original characters making their appearance so far: Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, and surprisingly Blaze. And Eggman too, because duh. It seems this comic is going to adhere way more closely to the games, which could go either way. Sadly, I'm willing to bet that Sally and the others are gone for good. No Knothole or Mobius or Kingdom or Echidna family or Naugus or Ancient Walkers. I wonder if they'll bring back Sonic's parents and Uncle Chuck? The Chaotix will hopefully show up soon, but what about Nack the Weasel? Some people complained that there were too many unnecessary characters in the old Sonic universe, but I appreciated the wide-ranging world-building that went on for over two decades. I hope at least some of these great characters make an appearance with the new characters that they'll sprinkle in. The great thing is that they've got some of the old guard back with Ian Flynn and at least one other artist. What they need to do is show up to Pat Spaziante's doorstep with a wheelbarrow of money and convince him to come back into the Sonic fold. As it is, this is a promising start, and I can't wait to see what's next.
