WHAT CAN I SAYYYYY i knew warner was a good man and Adam was so bland in these books and annoying like this whole not getting that she broke up with him really made me uncomfortable and like the oppression olympics he was having with Juliette in the beginning of this book gave me the ick like she was literally abused, isolated in an asylum for almost a year and was used as a weapon in war and brought a whole new meaning to being touch deprived and to have the audacity to imply he had it worse, like of course his life wasn’t great but you cannot deny that she went through a lot. I just feel like he isn’t a great guy and the way he treated Juliette felt like he does not take women seriously. But besides that, I loved how like all the characters since their was a lot of them less had their own little cute dialogue moments and all that like this book was so sweet and had great characters and also was able to still have a great plot like this whole war thing was really nice to see play out. I also liked how much Juliette grew into her skin in this book like she was still her but she grew a little. Also glad that the cringy parts were finally not something she did! instead they were all initiated by a man (Adam) and i could get on the hating on a man bandwagon any day.

Absolutely adored this. The romance, the plot, the people, the relationships, the dynamic. It was all just absolutely remarkable and incredibly fast paced without losing any depth or connection with the characters. Kenji is an absolute and utter STAR. He is the character of the story who is there purely for comedic interlude, he actually reminded me very heavily of Mercutio from Romeo and Juliet- with his witty comments of sarcasm. His friendship with Juliet is unmatched but his relationship with me is much more... 😝

Yeah but honestly this book was amazing. I think I didn't pay enough attention in the 2 past books, however. So I found occasionally I had a little lapse in memory and finding myself completely and utterly lost in my own confusion and I did find that quite frustraiting, but I do believe that is entirely my own fault.

I am never getting over this. 

(view spoiler)[First of all, I would like to apologise for any bad thing that I have ever said about Aaron Warner. My favourite thing about romance books, especially with the enemies to lovers trope is when, as the reader, you get to fall in love with the love interest as the main character does. This series, and this book in particular, has shown this so well. Aaron and Juliette’s relationship blossomed so beautifully. 

I loved that Juliette finally realised that she can be her own person and it seems as though she really found herself in this book. The way her thoughts are presented are almost poetic and I love getting to see inside of her head.  (hide spoiler)]

The action in this book was amazing. As always I loved getting to know their world more and seeing how it works. 

Overall, this book had the perfect amount of sweetness, tension, sad moments and action. I am so thankful to everyone who recommended this series to me. I can’t wait to see more from this world!

i love. why can’t all men just be like warner. he so perfect and treats her like a queen while at the same time letting her fight her own battles because unlike adam he knew she could do it. and on a separate note, why would anyone ever take back adam. after all the things said. he has so many opportunities to stop and to quit digging himself into a bigger hole but he didn’t. i’m so proud of juliette for standing up for herself. and taking over a country at seventeen?! ok queen

           this book is my fav so far!!!! THE ENDING IS SO PERFECT!!!! julliette is such a badass i actually can’t. i love kenji so much but if he tries to get in the way of warner then he might go down in my list.

Shatter Me: Shatter Me Series 1

I haven’t read a dystopia novel in well over a year because I am not a massive fan of the genre but I feel like this was an excellent novel to get my back into it. Whisper, by Lynette Noni, meets the hunger games. The writing style was very rhythmic and almost poetic and I managed to follow the plot without getting too lost which is typical for me and these kind of books. I will definitely be investing in the next book and an overall impressed by what I thought was going to be just another basic booktok rec.

The best one in the series yet. I really adore how we got to know the characters more and the plot was decent.

Honestly I don’t know what I think of this series other than it’s entertaining enough to get me to read three books in less than a week. First read of 2022 and finally got to the one line I had known from this series. IYKYK, right?

Also as far as the book goes, I’m just glad Juliette’s whining is mostly gone. I enjoyed the first books but this journey into self confidence has been very nice
