I don't think I will ever hate a Kate Daniels book. I've said it before in every past review, but i'll say it again: I love this series. I don't dislike romance books, but I always find them so uninteresting, so predictable. If you are a die hard romance lover, you'll probably won't love this series. But if you want an interesting, action filled, girl kicking protagonist with a slow building romance and great worldbuilding; this is the series for you.
I loved the mythology in this one. And please, DO GET MARRIED YOU TWO.
I finished this book in one sit down and was not at all disappointed. I just find this entire series so satisfying, between the fantastic assortment of recurring characters, the variety, the complex world, and - to top it all off - the fantastic modern magic world Ilona Andrews has created. Now all I can do is reread while I anticipate the next one. I recommend this book series to just about everyone I know.
4.5/5 This book made me weirdly emotional! I also love how Ilona Andrews executed the initiation of this last micro-arc. This book pretty much sets up the final third of the series and it does so brilliantly imo.
This was brilliant. It went a bit dark in the middle but I totally loved it. The separation of Curran and Kate from the pack was never going to smooth and seeing how their lives were so intermixed was fun to see. And Curran out in the human world? What an odd sight, but fun to see. Although, it turns out his life outside the pack involves the same kind of adventures but instead of arguing with the pack council to go fight something he is stuck following human law enforcement rules. Both involve a lot of red tape and jumping through hoops and it's frustrating for him.
4.5 stars. Oh thank god. They may be situated differently, but they are not alone. My fears about what they would be like now went unfounded. Silly me, I should've had more faith!
I LOVE Kate and Curran!!! They just keep getting better and better with each book. Now I can't freaking wait for (view spoiler)[THEIR WEDDING AAHHHHH (hide spoiler)] in the next book!!! Also holy shit I need Magic Stars in my life right now.
