these books are addictive. i’m ngl sometimes i don’t think im smart enough for them because there’s always another double secret plan happening and im like “woah” but also connor is very hot. if you read these books and you’re like “hm what’s happening”, i agree but also hang on because it eventually levels out and you’re like “wait that was a great ride”

This review was originally posted on Addicted To Romance White Hot is the second book in the Hidden Legacy series and boy was it a long wait for this book. I really should have re read the first book, because somehow I had forgotten the cliffhanger at the end there. But White Hot picks off pretty quickly after book one. We have our heroine, who decided she wanted more than to just be a sex partner for Connor aka "Mad Rogan". Nevada Baylor, has some unique gifts including the ability to know whether someone is telling a lie or to find out their secrets but her talents come with a great risk as well. Nevada is close to her family, and has been determined to make her late father's company be successful. When a man whose wife was murdered comes to her for help, she agrees even though she knows there is a lot of danger involved, but this man full of grief and devastation she just can't turn out without helping him get justice. But her journey to finding this justice ends up with her in more danger than ever, her family at risk and having to face Mad Rogan once again... “I’m going to shoot him,” I squeezed through my teeth. “No, that would be murder,” Grandma Frida told me, her voice soothing. “You’ve had a long day. Let’s put your magic away. You know what you need? A nice cup of chamomile tea and a tranquilizer . . . White Hot was simply breathtaking, it was a sensational book that I didn't see coming. It was better than book one, if that is even possible since I adored that book as well. Seeing Connor and Nevada interact once again made me realize why I adored this couple in the first place. Their interactions with each other are freakin' hilarious. The I want to kill you but at the same time I want to kiss you in the rain type of way. I finally understood why he was called Mad Rogan. It wasn't because he was insane. It was because he drove you nuts with sheer frustration. Their relationship is definitely packed with misunderstandings, hot passion and action packed adventure. These two can kick ass together in all the best ways. And you just get a kick out of Nevada's family. They are always teasing her about him, and trying to get her to marry the man. It is pretty funny if you think about it. “Did you see how she got all hot under the collar?" Grandma Frida said in a theatrical whisper behind me. "She's not over him." "I can hear you!” I do like that Nevada's family is so supportive of her and tease her since she is much too serious. Then we have our sexy dragon, Mad Rogan. I truly love this guy as our hero. He is such a bad good boy in all the best ways of course. He is a alpha male, but he also appreciates Nevada's talents. And boy seeing them fight together is sexy HOT!! I mean they work so in sync with each other and they make such a good fighting team. And those sweet quiet moments that are rare are so special to see. I love seeing them deal with past hurts and try to find a balance in their new found relationship. The plot thickens though as the danger increases, and clues start to come in, and the realization of what Nevada and the future of her family and her future with Rogan might entail. I do love this couple writing team, because there are some twists and turns that I never expected in this book here. And the book still left me wondering what is in store for them in book three. What do you love most about this couple writing team? What do you love about kick ass heroes and heroines? [foogallery id="19195"]

Rating: 5 Stars - Amazing The fabulous wife/husband duo Ilona Andrews brought the sexy on with Rogan and Nevada in White Hot (Hidden Legacy #2). They still have the best chemistry and are so cute together. Their fun banters I can not get enough of. Ilona Andrews are able to bring sexual tension and humor together with out being cheesy and loved every moment. I am loving how protective Rogan is over Nevada. It is his actions that show he would protect her and kill for her. Love that he does not shelter her and will fight beside her. Loved that Nevada is a bad a** character but there are still things in her life she is not comfortable with. Had so much respect for her mother and Rogan. They did not think twice about stepping in for her. Unpredictable and all kinds of amazing as Burn For Me (Hidden Legacy #1)

➽ And the moral of this rererererererereread is: not sure why I bother with slightly temperamental, somewhat homicidal crustaceans when despicably cute, revoltingly fluffy ferrets are obviously the key to world domination. See what I mean? 👋 Until next time and stuff. · Book 1: Burn for Me ★★★★★ · Book 3: Wildfire ★★★★★ · Book 3.5: Diamond Fire ★★★ · Book 4: Sapphire Flames ★★★ · Book 5: Emerald Blaze ★★★ · Book 6: Ruby Fever - to be released 2022 Previous rating: 50 million stars and a half. New rating: no longer rating this book because Goodreads will probably implode if I do. You're welcome and stuff. ➽ And the moral of this rerererererereread is : there is a very slight, tiny possibility that the Butcher of Merida this book might perhaps maybe make me feel a teensy little bit like this: And also like this: And also also like this: (Mayhap.) New rating: 50 million stars and a half. And then some. ➽ And the moral of this rerererererereread is : if we lived in a perfect world, there would be a Kate Daniels/Hidden Legacy crossover series. It would be called Wild Magic Hotness. In this series Kate and Nevada would meet, fall in 💕lurve💕 at first sight and kick ALL the villainous villains’ asses to oblivion scrumptiously ever after. Curran would hook up with Cornelius (because animal mage, duh), Rogan with Barabas (these two are meant for each other, I’m telling you) and Augustine with Desandra (I’m sure she’ll love his flawless plums and magically-enhanced pork sword). Grandma Frida would live in sin with Roland and Penelope would marry Doolittle. Ascanio would have the hots for Leon, Catalina would date Julie, Derek would succumb to Troy’s charms, Bern would fall for Ghastek, and Arabella would be on Baby Conlan/Baby B/Cuddles/Grendel/Bunny/Talon/Mr. Himalayan Cat babysitting duty because she’s way too young to be thinking about Tactile stuff. This series would be the best thing since sliced barnacles Kate Daniels/Hidden Legacy/Innkeeper Chronicles/insert anything IA here, and the prospect of new instalments being released would leave us feeling like this: In other words: Same old, same old. P.S. Rogan = meow. Also, Rogan = mine (view spoiler)[ DUH (hide spoiler)]. [May 2017] Previous rating: 30 million stars and a half. New rating: 40 million stars and a half. And counting. ➽ And the moral of this rereread is : I want. I want what? I want this: ① I want to be Nevada Baylor when I grow up. QED and stuff. ② I want to adopt a pet dragon. Just so that he can "drive me nuts with sheer frustration." Oh wait, said dragon is already safely locked up in the high security wing of my harem! It's so cool to be me sometimes. ③ I want to be adopted by Nevada's family. Just so that I can be somewhat mortified by my teenage sisters' awesome collage skills, and have Grandma Frida text me about my not-boyfriend at the most inconvenient times. That would be slightly awesome and stuff. ④ I want Rogan to want my bullshit. DUH. ⑤ I want to be an animal mage, and have my own ferret army. Oh wait, does my breeding murderous crustaceans count as being an animal mage? Probably. Oh wow, it really is really cool to be me! Hmmm…I wonder how the cunning ferrets would get along with the slaughterish crustaceans, though. I think I better ask Fleet Admiral DaShrimp to investigate the matter thoroughly before I send him on a Search and Kidnap Cornelius' Beasties Mission (SaKCBM™). Yes, this is what DaShrimp looks like when he thoroughly investigates stuff. Pretty hot, huh? ⑥ I want to put a bullet through (view spoiler)[Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler's (not the character's real name, in case you were wondering) (hide spoiler)] little head. I might also want to cut cut cut, slice slice slice and chop chop chop chop (view spoiler)[Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler (hide spoiler)] into tiny little pieces. For good measure and all that. ⑦ I want to create a sanctuary for dudomancers and dick fuckers. And for people who make fart noises when hitting their desks with their heads, too. And that is all. Until next time. Toodle-oo and stuff. [April 2017] Previous rating: 20 million stars and a half. New rating: 30 million stars and a half. Obviously. ➽ And the moral of this reread is : And also: P.S. DUH (view spoiler)[MINE MINE MINE MINE (hide spoiler)]. [December 2, 2016] I could write a review for this book. Of course I could. And taunt you poor Roganless souls mercilessly. But I'm not like that. Oh no. I have a heart and all that crap. Therefore, I will NOT say a single word about this book until the day it is officially published. Nope nope nope. Not a single word. Oh no. But several? Oh yes, definitely. ① If you liked Burn for Me, you are going to LUUURRRRRVE White Hot. Too bad you have to wait another 6 months to read it. ② If you thought the world building in Burn for Me was super uber cool, and wanted to know more about the magical stuff, and had tons of questions about Nevada's magic, and were really curious about her family and were wondering what sort of awesomely amazing things the Andrews had in store for White Hot, you are going to LUUURRRRRVE this book. Too bad you have to wait another 6 months to read it. ③ If you thought Rogan is mine was slightly HOT, and that the chemistry with Nevada was fairly glorious, and that their banter was somewhat wondrous, and that the sexual tension was considerably yummy, you are going to LUUURRRRRVE this book. Too bad you have to wait another 6 months to read it. P.S. Quick message to those who think they know what TACTILE TACTILE TACTILE means: hahahaha. You silly people. You have NO idea. (view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] ④ If you are a fan of the IA Zoo, and love all the splendidly fantastic pets/creatures/critters/whatevers they invariably come up with, and thought Burn for Me was painfully lacking in the Awesome Beasts Department (ABD™), and were wondering if the Andrews would make up for this in White Hot, you are going to LUUURRRRRVE this book. Too bad you have to wait another 6 months to read it. » And the moral of this I Promised I wouldn't Say a Single Word about this Book but I'm Full of Crap and You Should Know Better than to Trust me Crappy Non-Review (IPIwSaSWatBbIFoCaYSKBttTMCNR™) is: the crappier the IA book cover, the awesomer the IA book. And that, my Little Barnacles, is an immutable law of the universe. P.S. Don't know what to get for the Scourge of Mexico this Christmas? Buy him a cat. Trust me on that one. P.P.S. I have another immutable law of the universe for you: Rogan is Mine. QED and stuff. ARC kindly provided by the author in exchange for...NOTHING. No review, no body part, no soul. Nada, rien, zilch, zip. Because Ilona is shrimping awesome like that. ➽ November 28, 2016: there is a slight possibility that I might be in possession of an early copy of this book. Slight. Might. Muahahahaha and stuff. P.S. I love you too.

The plot thickens and the cover worsens! I'm glad that Ilona Andrews didn't stick to the über alpha treatment for Rogan and gave him a lot more depth. Nevada frustrated me at times but now that she's coming into her powers and that she's loosening her grip on her illusions of normalcy, she's becoming a more compelling character to follow. Overall a very solid, gripping and entertaining story that set up a lot of interesting things to come in the next book and end of the first Hidden Legacy trilogy.

Just as good as the first!-a rare feat. It kept the same humor, action, tension, and plot!! I'm greedy and want the 3rd. At least I now have 2 to re-read over again until then unlike the first that I have practically memorized. This was the first book I pre-ordered on my kindle.

Wow! After that magnificent ride in Burn for Me, I was expecting my journey in White Hot to be just as amazing. It did not disappoint. This amazing story captured my attention from the first page and held me in its grip to the end. It delivered so much more than I expected. It surprised me in ways I never expected, which was a good thing.   What I lovedI cannot say it enough; the characters are awesome. I could not get enough of them. I declare it now and without apology, Mad Rogan is my new book boyfriend. Not only is he powerful, he is also sexy and enigmatic. He is considered a psychopath, but their opinions did not matter. The only person’s opinion that mattered to him was that of Nevada Baylor. He would do anything to have her see him for the man he is and not he was perceived to be. I had fun learning what made him tick. I love the person who he was when he is around Nevada, protective and caring. Nevada Baylor is not your typical heroine. She is smart, feisty, strong –willed and independent. In this instalment, she discovers that there is more to her powers than she originally believed. I enjoyed watching her growing into her abilities after keeping it a secret for so long.I appreciated the dynamics of Nevada and Mad Rogans’ relationship. Their attraction is as strong as ever, but obstacles of every size, shape and form are determined to keep them apart. The sexual tension was so intense that it is a wonder my Kindle is still functioning. The story is packed full of nail-biting action, that kept me eagerly turning the pages as I needed to know what next would happen. This new case they are working on is proving to be more dangerous than the previous one. The danger, the thrills, and the humour made for an exciting read, but what gave it the extra oomph was the romance and the family dynamics.VerdictIf you have not started this series, then you are missing out on an awesome story. This is a series not to be missed, especially if you are a fan of this genre. Please note, however, that the character development, requires you to read the books in order. I cannot wait to start the next book. Highly recommend. View all my reviews

So basically I should have read these ages ago and I'm so glad I finally did. I think I love White Hot even more than Burn for Me, because well, there is just that much more Nevada and Rogan together. I don't think I can review any better than what has already been put out there, so here are some of my favorite quotes (spoilery, so avoid if you haven't read yet): "Marry him we need college money" "It doesn't matter if I'm the first. It only matters that I'll be the last." -Rogan "I still need a dress." "I'll handle the dress," Rogan said. "No," I told him firmly. "You'll give me money and I'll buy my own dress." Nevada is my favorite, so is Rogan, and wow, sex with an empath sounds, um, very nice. audiobook listen 2021 - love the narrator, Andrews dialogue chops works so well with an audiobook. The slow-burn KILLED me in the best way. Rogan and Nevada are so dang hot. Also, the part where he helicopters in to sweep her away from everything? How do I sign up for that? Really loved the introduction of the animal mage, the ferrets, all of it.

The second novel in the Hidden Legacy series by Ilona Andrews, White Hot picks up a few months after Burn for Me, and we find out the amazing Rogan hasn’t talked to Nevada since he told her to pick a place and they would go there together and she told him no. Apparently he was supposed to understand that this meant she wanted him to pursue her and prove that she would be more than a one night stand. To see if he was interested in a real future with her. Also, the man from House Harrison (I’m sorry, I returned the books and can’t look up his name now) from the last book is back has his wife has died and he needs to hire Nevada to find her killer. Oh, and Nevada used her power to save a little girl, so now her evil Grandma is after her. Okay, I think those were… oh, wait, the conspiracy from the last novel is still in here and working its way through these first three books, and it is interesting. The characters continue to be amazing, I love the animal mage SO MUCH (the ferrets), and Rogan and Nevada finally take the next step in their relationship. What I really like is that these two are so consistent in their characters. And we get to see more of the rest of the family in this book. I really enjoyed the extent that Rogan went to provide protection (with out telling the Baylors), and how dense the “PI”s are that they didn’t notice. A bit disappointed in them for that. It is a great continuation in the series, and is definitely for an adult audience. If you like Paranormal/Urban Fantasy, I think you’d enjoy this book.
