Elara and Enzo are back for more adventures but the seas are choppy and they are going to encounter more enemies out to stop them.

There are lots of things to enjoy in the book: fated mates, action/adventure, pirates and mermaids and dream adventures. The pacing is quite fast and there is some decent world expansion (I'd still like more on the magical background). The side characters get to have some adventures of their own and there are some big reveals.

There is spice in the story, which I'm never mad about, I just wanted to know why Elara and Enzo got interrupted so many times when they were thisclose to getting it on but not what they were in the middle of a graveyard.  I'm all for you-do-you but cemetery smexy times are not high on my list, lol!

I'll carry on into book 3 and hope that some of these wee niggles work themselves out and that Dark/Piscea get their comeuppance!

okay, okay, okay. what? that’s what my brain is saying right now. i cannot comprehend how imani can write such immersive, heartwarming, painstaking, soul touching books. like my brain short circuited when i read heavenly bodies, but fallen stars? brain=fried. i wish i had the words to truly describe how much i love imani’s writing. it scratches an itch in my brain that i never knew i had. 

the love that elara and enzo have for one another? like no other. they are the definition of soulmates. an enzo? no other man will ever compare. he rose the standards to unreachable heights. ugh, they will literally do anything to protect one another and it makes me want to sob. 

i was running LAPS during this book, i’m not gonna lie, i cried a few times as well. also, can we talk about ADIAN, ELI, AND ARIETE?!?! who allowed them to be that hot? i want to know. it should be illegal. 

i’m not even kidding, i had to use 3 different highlighters to annotate because 2 of them ran out of ink. that’s how much i was annotating. and i used like 1 and 1/2 cards of tabs. 👀
