I finished this book in 2 sittings and honestly, it was so hard to put down I had to know what happened next. 

It was very intriguing and ominous, not the typical type of book I read, but it was dark and engaging and kept reeling me back in. 

It is however very gruesome, gory and quite explicit in parts which was part of the reasoning for taking a little break from it before finishing it.  The character descriptions and their development throughout the book was equal parts fascinating and horrifying. 

I feel that if I were to read this again, it wouldn't have the same gravity and impact as it did during this initial read. It was overall a very tense but engaging read.

Content warning for gore and perversities. 

I definitely regret not reading this book in one sitting. The build up to the climax was so tense and gave me a lot of anxiety, but I fell asleep right before the big moment. Reading it the next day in the daylight and without the memory of all the paranoia and tension that caused me to be anxious in the first place really made reading the big scene less climatic. Because of this I drew out reading the rest of the book over a few days and was generally bored with the second half.
