Inhale, Exhale.

Inhale, Exhale.

"I do."Two words woven in love. In sickness and in health. For better or for worse. 'Til death do us part. And death dragged us apart. We both said those vows. But neither of us kept them. This is not one of those happy stories.Life isn't made of simple choices and happily ever afters. It's a dark place. It's not easy. It's full of mistakes and lessons. It hurts. And in the end, those two words said in love, are the same ones said in hate."You want a divorce?""I do."

This is one of those books I truly wish I could give more than five stars. What a journey this book was. A journey that made you realize not everything is black and white, that there isn’t a clear line in the sand, that the tide comes in and erases it. Its a bout the greyness. It’s a book that touches on so many subjects that people are afraid to talk about. Very REAL issues. It was REAL emotion, not this rose-tinted, hollywoodized version of life. So for that, I want to applaud Matthews. Lo and Jason are such complex characters. Heck, all of them are. They felt real, like I was right there witnessing these events right there with them. They had depth, multiple dimensions and layers. The plot was full of turns and events but so well paced that it did not feel like a sequence of events, but more like a flowing story which is what great storytelling is. Matthews was able to bring to the forefront so many relevant issues, especially grief and how we deal with it. How we all deal with it differently and how it can consume us. Something so relatable and powerful. I HIGHLY recommend this book!
