I’m not a daddy kink fan and this book hasn’t changed my mind but I still enjoyed it. I did like the dynamic between Wyatt and Linc, I just cannot vibe with the “daddy” part 😂 this is also kinda heavy on the emotions which is something I really like. This was my first Onley James book and I’m looking forward to reading more.

I adore Onley James’s Necessary Evils series, so I jumped right into this one and I wasn’t disappointed. 

Ooooo boy. This was absolutely a story of two broken people finding love and home with each other. Parts of it were hard to read, but sadly, conversion therapy isn’t a thing of the past. I loved that this book really talks about the harm of conversion therapy and the long lasting damage it can do. 

Sweet Wyatt. For someone so broken and beaten down, he really had a lot of strength and resilience. We really see his mental health struggle and it does get hard to read at times. After years of conversion therapy forced by his conservative, politician father, Wyatt is just looking to be himself and have someone love him for who he is. Lincoln ends up being all that and more. I loved that Linc wasn’t considered a “cure” to Wyatt’s struggles. Linc was such a pillar of strength for Wyatt. 
He stepped in and really supported Wyatt and his dreams. 
Wyatt’s dickhead dad getting his comeuppance was SO satisfying. I’ve never hated a character as vehemently as I hated him. He represents so many small minded people that can do very real harm to minority communities and I really liked that Onley pointed out how damaging people like him are.
