Despite an intense interest in and personal connection to the subject matter, I cannot say I enjoyed this book.  Camp Girls has major structural and organizational issues. It purports to be a memoir, and paragraph to paragraph reads like a memoir, but it's organized along nonlinear themes (like "Responsibility" and "Nature") that disrupt any narrative continuity. This structure would have been more appropriate if Krasnow were writing a book where she presents an argument for why summer camp is good for kids using data (including, perhaps, personal anecdotes and interview excerpts). The end result reminded me more of an extremely long college admissions essay than anything.
